Homelite Bandit SX-135 in a 40 Mono
Recently picked up a 40 inch Mono hull and was also able to grab a Homelite Bandit SX-135 for cheap. Got a few questions: Will this be too much for the hull in terms of weight and stability? Where in the world do I find a mounting kit for this motor? I was doing some research and found a water cooled header from funrcboats.com. What would a water cooled header do in terms of cooling, does cooling the header actually cool the head and that area? Taking all advice and suggestions. Not a complete budget build but like everyone else I want the most I can get for my money.

Hull is probably a little small for a weedeater boat.
Mounting kit you will be making your own.
Water cooled header does nothing to cool the head, it cools the exhaust gases. Provided you leave the boat open air cooling should be ok.
Seriously, you would be better finding a Zenoah PUM, RCMK, Rev up or similar marinised motor second hand. You are going to spend that sort of money getting the trimmer motor ready and with the bonus of better performance from the start.

Yeah the more I keep reading about these types of builds, I am learning that the weed eater motor idea is actually a poor power plant. With that being said, if i decide to jump over to an actual gas motor like a Stock Version Of The All New REV-UNLIMITED 26cc Engine for 88 bucks would that still be too much motor for the hull? this motor looks smaller then the weed eater motor. I'm guess you could probably pick up a mounting kit as well for it since this is a motor actually designed for rc boats, correct?

I'd still say the hull is a bit small for the engine but it could be worth a try.
You can get everything thing you need to match that engine from Gizmo or any other gas boat supplier. Mounts are common to nearly all the marine gas engines..
