I need parts to build my first boat
I have always wanted to get into gas boats especially after owning a Gas RC TRUCK. I was wondering if you guys can help me source parts that i will need and your preference on engines and such.
To start off with i like to have a Deep V hull that can handle a decent a mount of chop (in and out of the river mouths) for RC Gas boats. So what do i need to consider and where do i get the parts?
Things i like for my boat
47" Deep V Hull ( Who makes copies of hulls in preferrably canada but U.S will do?)
Minimum 25cc Gas engine (Zenoah, Homelite, Sikk ) Preference and experience on both? How are they for marine parts and accessories (clutch, driveline, hydro cool kits etc...)
WHat do you guy reccommend to seal my electronics incase the boat takes in water? (Sealed plano tackle box?)
I am new to this so any comments suggestions are welcome. There has been many helpful thread in this section of gas boats but alot of which i have no idea what they are talking about.

RE: I need parts to build my first boat
Here are links to various good suppliers of most gas boat stuff, there are others of course.
-1 www.marinespecialties-rc.com
-2 www.wharehousehobbies.com
-3 www.towerhobby.com
-4 www.horizonhobby.com
-5 www.bonzisports.com
-6 www.aeromarinerc.com
-7 www.rocketcityracing.com
Hull: Check #1, 2, 5, 6, 7 or look for eBay seller forabuck
Rudders and hardware: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 also eBay
Engine: 1, 2, 5, 6 also eBay
I have found most people don't really like to give hard answers to "which should I get" questions. But Homie engines are typically cheaper but make less revs and HP than Zens or Sikks, the 30cc Homies are getting much harder to find also and they are quite better than the 25cc version.
If you want a good "no name " hull the forabuck ones are very nice from what I have heard, you will save about 30-40% over a brand name hull and he has some really nice gel coat paint schemes also.

I almost forgot. If you want to purchase one complete and save a bundle in the process, take a look at eBay. Here is a good example [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5995099936&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1]Enforcer Team Pro on eBay.[/link]

Also check out this site if you like the Super G from wharehouse hobbies.
Here's one cheaper and from what I've heard and read well-built.
46" V hull - http://www.barnstormerboats.com/inde...&products_id=6

RE: I need parts to build my first boat
Any good canadian or near Canada suppliers for Zenoah engines? Where would i be able to get the Zenoah hops ups for the best price? I'm going to start of getting the hull, and zenoah. Is it east to do a water cool conversion?
Will a zenoah G26 fit this [link=http://www.barnstormerboats.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=6]boat[/link]
I really want a zenoah since i already own one or even a Sikk since it is a replica. Any people used a Sikk before?
Thanks

Yes, G260 will be ideal in that hull. Infact, the real Super G uses an A/C G23 with a can muffler and does about 40mph so you should be humping with a 260 and tuned pipe.

I think this [link=http://www.barnstormerboats.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=6]boat[/link] and the zenoah G26 water cooled will be my choice at the end of the day. Hopfully i can get every completed by the end of fall so i can take it on the lakes when the water has no traffic.
