dont be so touchy boys ,good job on the INSTALATION of your engine and hardware i hope she runs as well as she looks .i dont use the term build loosely maybe thats because i take pride in the fact i build something from scratch or from plans etc.im not knocking the good work that hes done on the boat either she looks really good!!.HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!

Good, I think we're all going to "make up" and move on with the original intent of this thread. Ken.

Well here are a few more pictures of the build... I got the radio box just about done, all water lines done, exhaust done, engine mounted, and rudder all set up. I am still waiting on the fuel tank, stuffing tube, and a few more accessories to dress the boat up a bit.

02f350psd, correct me if I'm wrong, but your strut doesn't look straight up and down from what I see. you may have to remount it but correct me if I'm wrong, looks good though. Ken.

02f350, looks great! but i had the exact same problem with my speedmaster strut. theres some not "true" with they're bracket. i'm sure that the bracket looke straight when you mounted it up, but its actually a little off when you mount the strut. actually i think the bracket is straight but the inside surfaces aren't and it kicks the strut to an angle. i can't belive that this is happening to some one else! i figured mine just slipped by inspection and it was a fluke. send it back with a picture or email them one and ask them what they want to do about it. they need to know and i never told them because i thought mine was a fluke. i guess you could do what i did and file it down and repolish but let them know anyway.

Great looking boat. You did a great job BUILDING it. You may be able to hog your holes out on your rudder bracket and get enough movement to get things square.

Yeah, nice build, too bad that the Speedmaster stuff that everybody on JRCBD swears by isn't working out for two people, that's too bad. I'm sure it would cause some handling issues and un-correct tracking if you tried to run it now. Ken.

Well maybe if it were facing off the an angle on the horizontal axis, but you're probably right on the vertical axis. Ken.

The strut is a little off... I am going to keep it how it is for now and see what happens. If i have to, i will either make the holes bigger for the strut or file down the inside of the bracket. Didn't get to fire the boat up yet as i am still waiting for my last package to arrive.

Well, other than that it's looks very professional, and I'll be able to run my boat when I get my "last package". Ken.

Well she is 99.9% done, just need to tighten a few screws/bolts and she is good to go. Fired her up today and she runs, put her in the water yesterday and she floats so this weekend i will put the two together. Here are a few pics...

it looks great! you'll be very pleased with how it runs too. mine handles very well, although it is my first cat and have nothing to compare it to. mine is very stable and predictable (so i guess i'll never refer to it as a "she" or "her"). Corbin, that Dragcat video was awesome! who's Tbolt was that doing aerobatics in the vid? Looked like ya'll had a lot of fun!

Corbin, thanks for the compliments!! I won't be building another boat for a while... college loans and car loans are going to start piling up in about a month or so. I haven't even thought about a next build yet. The other thunderbolt in those pics was littlebuick8's, was very stable and moved quite well with a Fastrat modded 260.
