NEW CRACKER BOX! Zipp Manufacturing
I have had the honor and privilege to build and test one of the first prototype crackerbox kits by Zipp Manufacturing (Joe Petro).
This kit turned out to be a great handling and fast design, when I took it out for the first time to test I was suprised by its performance.
I have in the last 10 years of assembiling boats built quite a few fiberglass crackerbox hulls from various manufactures but never a wood version, and I got to say that they never ran quite like this one.
This was a refreshing change of pace for me and I had alot of fun building and more fun running Joe's cracker box and I would like to thank Joe for giving me the opportunity to build , test and provide feed back on his project.
And I would like to wish Joe lots of succses with his creation and Zipp Manufacturing.
So if you like to build with wood and want a great running hull when completed get your self one of these kit when they become available from ZippKits.com, you wont be disappointed.
Here is a link to some photos of the crakerbox's first day out at the lake for testing.[link]http://groups.msn.com/RCboatphotos/shoebox.msnw[/link]
Enjoy!

I was one of the other builders of Joe's kit and I concur with Frank.Joe has designed a great looking boat that was very easy to put together, even as a first time wood boat builder like myself.
On the water this boat is a blast to run and I'm not done dialing it in yet!

Frank,
Good to see yours on the water, I have had some issues with paint, but am getting closer to being done, my kit is the V-BOX so it will be a little different.
It is a very well thought out kit, and went together great.
Will post after Joe clears every thing..........won't be long.

To those of you that are on the waiting list for the NBox:
We are cutting kits now.
The instruction manual is going through it's fifth revision!
We want to make sure that anyone can successfully build and run one of these, so we are taking the manual very seriously.
Also, we won't accept any payment until the kit is shipping, in answer to those that want to prepay.
The good news is that we WILL be offering an introductory price that is lower than that listed on the web site. If you are on our mailing list, we will send you an invitation for the intro price.
Thanks to everyone for your overwhelming response, and thanks to the beta testers for helping to make this all happen.

Excellent, thanks sir!
Guys, this kit from Zipp is awesome. I have never built a wood boat and this thing has gone together flawlessly, and I had a first run Beta kit! I just wish I had more time to get this thing completely finished, my job has me running this year!

Hi
What dose the V-Box look like. I was thinking of building a crackerbox from scratch but now that I know how much it will cost me for all the wood, I think I will just get one of these kits instead.

I'll let Mr.Petro supply the pics, but you need to imagine a normal looking cracker top with a mono bottom would explain it.............

Guys,
I just fiished the V-BOX, gave a shake down run yesterday and all went well, have some adjustments to make and need to dial in a prop. Pictures have been sent to Joe P. and as soon as he gives me to OK, Iwill post them........
I have never built a boat from a kit before and I have to say it was a very enjoyable experience, the kit went together very well and Joe's support was outstanding. Thank you Joe for including me in this project !
