Hull Building
I am working on my hull that I am building and I just got started on making the deck. Problem is I was wanting to make it out of one piece and it isn't working so well. I have too many bends that I have to accomplish and the wood is not wanting to bend correctly. So my question is what about doing it in individual strips? Has anyone tried this?? How did it turn out?? Also is there another way of going about this??

RE: Hull Building
individual strips will work just fine, you will need to do a bit of sanding and filling to get it smooth though. Just take your time and fit each stip as close as you can.

RE: Hull Building
Make a pattern out of stiff card to start with. You may find that you can do it in 3 pieces, 1 for the bow and 2 side pieces. You may get some ideas from [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2402672/anchors_2402672/mpage_1/key_chronicle/anchor/tm.htm#2402672]this thread[/link]
Quick note, drill drain holes between the frames and the bottom of the hull so that water can find its way to the transom before you put the deck on. Some flotation in the bow as well. A drain tube right through the radio box might be an idea as well.
