express craft
with a mid modified g 26 motor (not a Zen 7) does anyone think that the expresscraft thunderbolt would be hard to get 60 mph out of or about how fast would one expect to see just a ballpark would be fine and one other thing do they corner good I have heard about some cats slow way down when cornering I had a super cat and had all kinds of problems with getting it to run the way I wanted it to and it would really dip a sponson in the corners and scrub off speed I am not looking to race but would like a good preforming hull also If this dont sound like the hull for me can anyone make a suggestion on a hull

RE: express craft
Although EXPRESSCRAFT makes a DARN good hull , a cat is a cat is a cat ....[&o]
If you want to whip those turns fast , then , the best bet is a deep vee ( mono ) .
( personally , I LOVE the Expresscrafts , over Aeromarines cats myself .... )
And about your motor .... not sure , but I kinda doubt it .
With a GOOD stock Zen , you would be pressed hitting 60's

I think the Thunderbolt would have the capability to give you an honest 60 with a mod Zen. I know Dickies cat ran beautifully and would have been in that ballpark (mod Sikk).

RE: express craft
I thought that boat had a modified (fast rat) Zen in it? I guess it's 6 to 1 half dozen the other
It is sweet though. Between that video and what I've seen Raj be able to do with the looks of them, sold me

RE: express craft
Izvagius did a build earlier this year with a clutch, but I don't remember which one. I want to do a clutch with mine as well so I will wait and see what the thread brings

RE: express craft
I've never built one with a clutch, but I know it can be done without cutting into the hull or hatch. Wish I could help you more. I'll try and find out what clutch was used.

The name of the thread is "I pulled the trigger today" by Izvagius. I think that he said there is only one clutch small enough to work. Hope it helps

RE: express craft
Been looking through the forum for ideas on a hull, and I think I am going to do this hull. Do they come with the stringers installed?
How long does it take to get a Thunderbolt from Expresscraft?
Thanks, Chris

RE: express craft
I would like to see any of the expresscraft cats drive as good as an Aeromarine cat. I have a sprint cat, avenger pro, procat and now a Conquest and I will never buy anything else. When people see my cats run they would think that its on rails. Built to race and they can dish it out race or play.

RE: express craft
You are right about the way the sprint cat handles I just got one here recently and it is fast and handles great the reason I also like the Thunderbolt is the scale look of it and have seen video of it and it rocks pretty good also, the thing I have noticed about the sprint cat is there is so much room in the hull I think I am going to put a clutch in mine not sure yet but will keep you posted I also like the way when you take off the hatch you pretty much remove the whole top of the hull that makes it really easy to get to things
