Default The new addition - 96" Fountain

Buddy of mine Phil (Wickedgoogly to some) built this fountain up last year. Philman is what I concider to be an exceptional builder. I have purchased boats from him before and he does exceptional work. I was along for the ride with this build from start to finish and never a penny was spared on anything. Finally today he brought it to me making good on a deal we struck around Christmas.

Challenge now is making a safe home for her and installing a pair of inline Zenoahs to fill the void the CMBs that I passed on left.

to give you an idea of the size - theres a 260 Zenoah on the bench in each shot.

Will post more pics when I start with the install of the new powerplants.

Matt that is one awesome hull. I saw quite a few shots of the boat over at your web site and I must say its a monster! Are you sure about just adding one set of inlines? Heh,heh,heh..
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Matt

Congrats on the new very big boat.

I'm sure it will run as good as the other boats you have. Video is a must.

I just have one question when it's done can I get a ride in her?

I can't believe how big that is... It doesn't look that big in your other pics.
Can't wait to see the progress... GET BUILDING!

She will certainly prove to be a lot to handle during launching. Thinking she will be around 70 pounds RTR.

Fitting a pair of inlines should not be too much a challenge. I will make up a pair of rails so I can shift the motors closer to the sides of the hull and a little lower in the hull. I just want to avoid removing the rails if I can help it.

Nice aquisition Matt! When you get her wet post up a comparison vid with WG's set up.

I hope the canoe doesn't steal too much time from the 84" planter project!

Most likely [link=http://imageevent.com/justaddwata/justaddwatajetboatvideo;jsessionid=q5brwqbhb2.buff alo_s]my videos on this site[/link] and [link=http://imageevent.com/justaddwata/photoscantonmaboatingoct2006]a few photos here[/link]. He never did get her dialed in right and due to the hull design it runs very wet.

I appreciate the comments and feedback guys (84" Planter Project I like it). I will take pictures on occasion and certainly make sure someone is available to shoot video. I will probably have an onboard camera or two (one on the engines I thought might be cool too) also.

Here are a few pics (thanks Andre!!) of the measures several builders in Europe have taken to improve the handling of the model. Personally I cant see taking a knife to a $1700 bare hull (one would think the manufacturer would correct the mold). I am going to try a few ideas before going so drastic.

The Trim tabs are from MHZ with custom linkages made to allow servo adjustment. All the lift rings, rails, and air grills, and exhaust tips are custom fabbed.

Stempak - Think you will find that boat to be a little bit electric.

I do like the current paint. Wish the windshield, and Arneson/Fountain decals were a little different but beyond that it is a nice look.

Considering Phil is going to dish out $1200 to paint the 92" cat I can only imagine she would be in that range also.

There is not a dealer for the Hanspeter Rotschi parts in the US. All deals have to go via the [link=http://www.swissmodelpowerboatteam.ch/]Swissmodelboatteam[/link]. I believe the price for a pair of Arnesons and rudder is in the $850 range.

You might look at the MHZusa.com website where some of the MTC hardware is listed. They have some nice parts. I have never had fond things to say about the US dealer but the MTC and MHZ parts are certainly high quality (and high price).

The hull is from MHZ also. It is the 96" Firewater. Think it is around $1700 delivered. It is a lot of boat for the money but also a lot of money for the boat.

I cant say the boat will be on the market anytime soon. I have been waiting over 2 years to get a 96 (this one was worth the wait).

The boat has less than an hours run time on it if you can believe it and know of receipts for over $10k.
