RE: apache owners
Joulesbee,
I saw 2 done with the turbine engine. 1 was found on You tube, the other was on WWW.MHZUSA.COM in the video section. The 1 on you tube was in a miss bud hydroplane thing sounded nice, was fast too. The other was a deep vee on MHZ wasn't as fast I don't think they were really into the throttle, by the performance it looked like just a basic test run, a couple of laps. Where did you get the turbine and how much was it, if you don't mind me asking, maybe interestd for a hydroplane project. Tom

RE: apache owners
Check out a HPR Cat http://www.swissmodelpowerboatteam.ch/ I saw a video of a 92" Cat (2.33) with twin turbines run around...quite a video. I tried to find it quickly this morning, but ran out of time. I believe the same group of modelers built and ran an Unlimited Hydro with a Wren Turbine... Good luck and keep us posted!!!

RE: apache owners
Need some suggestions.....I have the engines to make a single, a twin and a triple. The single and twins are the 26 zenoahs from warehouse hobbies, complete with clutch, tuned pipe and water cooled. I was thinking on using the aeromarine 50" and the 56" for the twins. I have yet to find a hull for the triple....any big ones out there, the triple is also 26 zen, only this will be air cooled and clutch. I would like some assistance on set up....is the 30% rule in effect for these hulls....been quite a while since I built one. I have 6 struts and rudders, but am thinking for the single and twin, to use kanellos drive c-rotating on the twin.......any sugestions????

RE: apache owners
dr drip, if you look on page 4, 3/4 way down look for Apache57stryker43 post. I had the same question, and he answered it great for me, i am waiting for my engines to come. if you scroll through page 4 I have the black Apache its 84" custom paint. Boat was purchased through Bonzi. But try to find it through someone else I am not happy with the company. Also if your looking to go bigger www.MHZUSA.com has a 96" Fountain. That should be big enough for the triple. That will proably be my next boat, I want to do twin 70cc from Quickdraw. Tom

That parts on that shaft are from the "grainer" or "Macmaster" catalogs. its custom built. dont think you really want it anyways. they look pretty but the u-joints cant handle the rpms. [&o]

The uni's and slip joint came from - http://www.sdp-si.com and ran around $65. Lasted Phil around 10 minutes of gentle running.
Then she went to a flex cable

Well i worked on the Apache Warpath to dress up the inside of the hull. I used Duplicolor's truck bed coating that you can buy in a spray can. It works really well and it looks sweet. Here are some pictures.

I thought about building a bigger one, 70'' expresscraft with a bit more power but i am going to hold on to my 56'' Aeromarine for now. I still have to reach my goal of 60mph with it. Thanks for the kind word's guys. Keep the Apache's comming!

Tom,
its the newest 35cc Quickdraw that has the steel crank and is in stock form. So far the boat has ran a best speed of 57.1 or 57.2, cant remember. Some prop changes, carb adjustments and the right water and it should be in the 60's.
