Mart,

look at the first two pix, you can see the 2 water nipples on the flange at the header and the 3 water nipples on the head of the QD (they are facing the front).

I have been talking to Quick draw and they were telling me they weren't sure it would fit. Very nice job and modification to make it fit? can't wait to hear about the testing. good job!!!

Did you change the rudder servo? If not, do so. The stock servo doesnt even have the torque to straighten back out with a full mod zen, much less a QD.

nice rig. i just hope the rails hold up where you mounted the motor too. i think you may want to re-enforce them if your going to run the beast in there if you haven't yet.

Why not,you can,t get the power & speed from a Fugi Imvac, thats for sure. When you make a decision to buy a Aquacraft gas boat,be it the V24 or the Rio you live with it or make a change. Possibly money could have been more wisely spent but to each his own.

OK, I hear ya.
But if money is not an issue, why not build a drag cat, or get a seaducer cat, or try the new Whiplash hydro. I just think that there are many better options hull wise for a QD to be pushing. JMO...
Good luck with that. Are you going to race it by chance?

Rio 51 with a QD Ht 25 ................WHY?
I guess if you enjoy flipping and stuffing boats, it'll be your thing. I have a drag cat with a QDHT in it and of the 5 times I've been out with it, I have flipped it 3 times. Like the guys said, hope you got plenty of flotation in it.... you're going to need it

Oh and might want to put one of those 300 dollar QD overhauls in the budget for when she guzzles down some water

I love things ridiculously overpowered but after my last couple of outings, I'm starting to get over it.

On the HT motor There is little risk of water damage inside such a large hull, Even if it did land upside down, the air inside the hull would keep the motor dry long enough for him to move his finger forward 3mm~4mm to kill the engine.

Ehh... I take some of that back... After looking closer at the pics, It could ingest water, On my HT's I mod them to not explode when water hits them.. Remove the flywheel, take the keyway out, Lapp the flywheel to the PTO shaft with valve lapping compound, then use a shot of red locktight on the pto, tighten her back down, FYI that keyway is not made to hold the flywheel from slipping, its made soft so it can sheer, problem is they normally have enough strength to allow the flywheel to do some damage, when you use locktight it will stay in time until you get water in the motor, then it will break free and allow the flywheel to spin a little, dampening the rotational force of the flywheel and preventing it from damaging the motor.

overpowered things are great if you know how to make em work for ya. if trimmed and balanced right you should have a lot of fun with it. for example, I know its not a scale example but same principal, my 14' retrieval boat was overweight with a 3500 watt stereo setup and overpowered with a 45hp motor but i centered the weight, gave the motor a trim fin on the cav plate (trim tabs for an rc) and the hull doesnt try to get airborn when i hit the gas anymore. good luck and have fun. oh and I'm sure we would all enjoy a video, right guys?

Sounds like some of you guys need to learn how to trim and drive your boat and i like how some people always have something negative to say
