Have you checked for rockers and hooks in the hull?,especially on the last 1/3rd of the hull at the transom, check the ride surface using a straight edge if you see light under it you have hooks if it rocks you have rockers both of which will make for a poor running boat.If everything looks fine then its maybe the setup how about some pics.

Check the bottom with a straight edge, and pay attention to the trailing edge corner. Where the transom meets the bottom needs to be a sharp 90* corner, any roundness will suck the backend down.

Warehouse Hobbies boats are know to have rockers in the hulls so I see why you were asked that. This is one reason why they can't take a highly modded motor.
Got trim tabs? Raise them up.
Carb, 2-1/4 out on low, 1 turn out on high. See if that wakes it up or not.
Keep in mind that you've got a big heavy boat there so it's not going to be a rocket. If you want fast then get a racing hull, not a sport boat. It's made for playing hard with as it will take a beating.
When was the last time that you saw a WHH boat in the winners circle at any boat race or for that matter, in the top three? You might see their new one, the Silex but not now.

cuz that boat runs with a wet pipe system, double rudders and a clutch, can't expect it to run like a missle unless you kick them out, check its running vid as tony posted it on his website, the boat is run for fun.

Ok guys here is what I can say after spending a summer with my old Revenge boat that is posted all over here and I will post more pics here with this post.
I talked to Tony at length about what to do when this boat seems to run wet.
He told me that this boat was designed to run in chop.
If you are running the boat on a glassy pond then you bought the wrong boat.
The Team pro would have been better but then again they are not rockets like some of these other 40+ inch boats that are out there.
The new Silex should run with the best of them but time will tell that story.
Also if you are running a clutch that will slow that boat down also.
Another thing to remember is that the boat is almost 10 inches longer then the race boat that you are used to.
The bigger the boat the more engine it takes to get it going and the Manta Ray needs a Mod motor that makes torque to get it ripping and about a 2 inch chop or some wake from another boat.
Try the boat on some big water with some chop and you will love it.
If you are not satisfied with it call Tony and tell him what you are experiencing he might take it on trade for the Team pro.
I like the Manta Ray cause it is extremely stable on all kinds of water and makes an awesome all around basher boat!

I have a Manta Ray and I love it. Definitely a big wave boat. You bought a boat that was not intended for the purpose you want to run it. This boat is not for racing. It is a 40-45 mph big wave boat. It is also setup for new boaters to have fun with. Take more time and bring it out on bigger water.

Call Tony tell him the problems that you are having maybe he can give some light on this subject.
I know the one that I run with in the summer time likes a bit of chop to get alot of speed out of it.
On a Pond or calm water it is NOT so great kinda slow!

Tony has been building boats for a long time. The boat that you are running is not a speed demon by any means. Most of his boats run in the mid forties at best. The extra lenth, and weight are big contributing factors into this. What you may want to consider to get more performance from it is: First, get the motor modded, Tony sells modded jugs that will allow the motor to breath better and make more horsepower. Second, if running a "wet Pipe" ditch it and go to a dry pipe system, water going thru the pipe will rob you of power as well. Third, contact one of the guys that do props, Chris (dasboater) Bob Austin (prop works) and get them to make a prop for you You can also loose the left rudder and that should make a difference in speed as well. Unless you are making a lot of left turns, it really is not nessessary, boat will still turn left with only the one rudder, but will have less drag.

hope this helps, John Crouch

Ron you better watch out. They are coming and coming strong[>:]. When was the last time you saw one. The new silex pro is an excellent boat. I am getting speeds at 65mph and taking corners with out letting off the trottle So don,t tell me that Wharehouse hobbies does not know how to build a good boat. My last boat was a proboat miss elam 1/8. It made a great boat anchor. My sons $250 superV27 out ran it.
