Default Like this paint scheme?

Hey, i finally got my boat primered up and looking pretty decent after about 2 weeks

Here are some pics, i am using Nitro Stan Spot and Glazing Putty that i got from my cousin who paints for a living. I think this stuff is commercial only. http://www.nitrostan.com/spotputt.html

Seems to be working quite well, and spreads easier than i could imagine. This is of my last spot putty run, still gotta sand, then primer one more coat and spray some colors.

I also built a stand, what do you cover your stand with so it does nto scratch the boat? I'm using old T-shirts right now..

Thanks, let me know what you think.

Keep the pix coming and maybe a video once it's floating!
Easy cover for the stand, 3/4" foam pipe insulation. Just zip-tie it on or get fancier and use a glue.

I still dont have the radio gear. I have to get hte Futaba FAAST system i assume. Not only that, im awaiting money for a zen, clutch, water pump, and pipe. After that i will have a video.

I have a question about paint schemes. I would like to paint the bottom of the hull black, with the top deck and sides maui blue with a design of some sort in black.

Is it usual for the sides and top to be the same color and the back transom the color of the hull ( Black)

So that would be top and sides maui blue and transom and hull black. Think that would look good? thanks

Red ones go faster
+ pick a colour that is easy to see, mine will be white hull and ascot green deck the same green as my Datsun 1600 (P510)
Also vision isn't getting any better

No, you can just go with a good FM radio system. You don't need the cluch either unless you really want one then plan on a water pump to go with it.
A black bottom isn't used much for one reason as it's harder to see if it flips especially if you plan on doing some racing with it.
If you like the Maui blue then I'd just shoot the whole thing that color then add a little something extra in another color that goes with it above the waterline.
I love black also as I do have a bare hull sitting in the basement that is all black gel-coat but I know that if I end up by doing something with it, it's going to need some flash. I did another hull in black but I added hot pink lettering to it, one color that I'm not really into but it made it stand out.

Alright, maybe will go with maui blue on the whole boat and a design in black.

And yes, i would really like having the clutch, so i will have to get that and a water pump

I'm still debating between a all black boat and a blue or red boat. Or a combination of all 3. I willl not be doing any racing, and no one else will be running with me.

Anyone with ideas as to a cool paint scheme let me know, im going to go to the final sand, then i have to decide on how i want it painted.

Thanks

What you think?

Here is a quick draft done in photo shop. Everythign would be scaled better, the side logo would be 11-12 inches long, 2 1/4 inch wide.

I like it, what about you?

I like the idea of naming the boat Khaos then going with the Monster Khaos theme.

Thanks

if you watch as your driven around and see a monster van at a convienence store stop in and ask for a promo pack, the reps usually have some stikers to give out. That's how I got mine. Looks good

I am doing the same Khaos theme on my 72" cat build. Not sure about the base color yet though. Either white or gray. Thumbs up from me!
