I needed some air intake scoops for my new project
I started off with some 1" / 25mm plastic conduit bends , i solvent welded them together then slash cut level with the deck painted them and made some alloy intake cones to fit in the ends to look like the full size race boats
all done for very little cost and about 1 hour work.

Unfortunately this post is 15 years old. The member who posted has no been active on this site in a few years. The conduit pieces look to be still available if you wanted to try. I have also picked up a few different scoops on ebay in fiberglass - quality is reasonable. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dkr...c=1&_nkw=scoop
