4.30" sounds correct. I tried out a friends prop pitched at that recently. It's a Prop Shop prop. Check the www.dasboata.com website.

I don't know if all of them are as the one I used was one of Chris' with it marked at 3.90". 2.30" just sounds like it isn't enough for a 6717/3. It's easier to pitch up than down.

eengler,

no, not all 6717/3 comes as a 430,
you can ask Chris to have it done anyway you want it, 430, 425, 420, 410, 400, 390 etc.etc... star tip (cleaver), round tip.

Tell Chris what you have for boat and engine and he should be able to point you in the correct direction.

I think the stock ones are arround 380-390 pitch maybe less,i could be wrong all i know is the racers edge from Chris is arround or between 410-430 pitch depending on what you want and its way too mutch pitch in my opinion for a stock motor ive tried it.My mate currently runs it on his t boat with rcmk and hes having trouble getting anything over low 50s with it so im confident it has too much pitch even for that motor and a cpl of guys on the dock are having the same problem.Id stick to a stock prop for a stock motor, the stock propshop 6717/3 i have spins much better on a stock motor so im asuming it has less pitch someone correct me if im wrong Mike G .It was balanced and sharpened by Chris aka dasboata but nothing else and so far its the best all round prop i have absoluteley awesome on a full mod even better than the pitched up one for me so far anyway.Just had a thought those numbers might not even be anything to do with pitch and may just be reference numbers so he knows what mods hes done to each prop?.

A stock 6717 should be 113.9mm pitch. Which is near enough 4.448819 inches.

Unless I got my calculations wrong.

But, as others have said, if the prop has been worked on then the pitch might have been adjusted.

ok, so if the stock 6717 prop has a 4.44 pitch and i am looking for a 4.30 pitch, I am assuming the 4.30 is less pitch than the 4.44, therefore it will be easier for the engine to spin the 4.30 hence it has less pitch???? Siriously the conquest cat was doing 54-55mph with a stock zen 260 and a 2 inch hanson pipe. That is pretty respectable in my books (for a stocker).

As i said its possible those numbers might have nothing to do with pitch, they might be serial numbers used by Chris. All i can say is several guys over on the dock said 430 pitch was too much for a stocker,so they went to 395 and 380 and the motors woke up confusing ehh .Honestly your best bet here is as said email Chris and ask him hes never wrong, you might be able to see 60 mph with the right prop.If as Glenn says the stock prop has 4.44 pitch then i wonder what the racers edge 4.30 actually has if its not a pitch measurement?.

I talked with chris today about a 6717 3 blade for my blackjack 55 and he has the racers edge 6717 3 blade 395 pitch and that is 3.95 inches of pitch, I also talked to bonzi today and he said the 6717 3 blade was alittle small for my blackjack with m-5 and they recommend the 7015 3 blade with 4.13 inches pitch, I believe that is what peerpsi is running on his blackjack. You may want to try that 7015 on that conquest. I know every boat is different and you really won't know for sure till you try the props out but who wants to keep spending $60-75 for props.

I know ive had great performance from my propshop 6717/3 versus a voodoo 6717/3 on the same boat.Seems to love the propshop one but it acted weird with the voodoo.Thats just shows theres a difference between the two ,voodoo props are great props but my point is the two are different.

So to clarify the position here, were you just having some fun or "having a laugh" with everyone who tried to offer you advise on the original question you asked relating to propellors?

I do hope that you were genuinely curious, rather than just someone being a pinhead.

Regards,

Glenn

glennb, I believe none of us here have time to get into an "argument" over being a "pinhead" or not. Maybe us Americans have a different sense of humor. I hope this clarifies your urges/needs. =)

No two Voodoo's are the same. Buy 12 Tater XX's and everyone will be a little different. Or any model for that matter. They are not very consistent. But then again I almost always have a Tater XX bolted to my Conquest and it consistently runs 65mph+ when it's running right.

Oh no not the dreaded them versus us again ,i wont even go into the American sense of humour thing .What i will say is if you are genuineley interested then many here will help but if you are just being to quote Glenn a pinhead [X(] then people will soon stop bothering.Im willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt and im allways willing to help if i can. That said call me a dork again and see where it gets yaa [sm=punching.gif] just joking .
Mart
ps I can 100% vouch for the fact Glenn isnt the argumentative type, same cant be said of me though as anyone on here can testify
