Default Pipe question?

Is it normal for your pipe O rings to dribble a little water during the first five minutes of running it (It stops after)? Also when people say that "they can't get on the pipe", what normally causes that too far in/ too far out?

I wouldn't think that the O-rings should leak at all. Since they seal up after warming up I guess that's OK? You may want to check your motor for water after running for awhile. I've had leaking O-rings on the header to tuned pipe and found lots of water in the motor.
Both too far in or out will cause you to not get on the pipe.

It's possible for the rings to seal better after the pipe heats up and expands.

Assuming you have a steel header and aluminum pipe the pipe should expand more though.

On my boat I found that I was taking on a lot of water because of the pipe moving around and leaking. A lot of water. Once I went with a pipe stop the problem was solved.

If a pipe is not suppose to drip 5-10 drips during warm up please tell me, because I want to fix it if it's not normal. Like I said before it seems to seal up though

PEEPSI- were did you get the pipe stop?

It shouldn't. Replace the O-rings, if you got it too hot you may have flattened them, all it takes is a leaf to wrap around the cooling holes on the rudder for a short time to do it.

Got the pipe stop from Ware house hobbies. Most of the vendors that sell pipes have them. Ditto on Dicko. Check the state of your o-rings. The last set I put on mine are so tight they wouldn't leak for a while!

I put new gaskets on, started her up and she drips Yah I hot that pipe stop from WHH, installed it like it said and it left a groove on the header were it chaffed the metal from "metal to metal vibration" ( And it still driped). The groove does not effect seal since its so close to the flange. I don't know maybe it's because I keep moving the pipe because I'm still in the tuning process? It's really bugging the hell out of me[>:]

Are you certian it's leaking at the o-rings? Could it be the fittings or a small pin hole?

I'm certain its coming from in between the Header and pipe, the fittings are "in there" for sure. I made sure by puting the fitings parellel just to make sure the drip was not rolling down from the fitting.

No leak until my o-rings blew out. Got new ones from AutoZone...no problem since..not one drop. Did have a waterline pop though.....

No not a lot, it is literaly 5-10 drops the when the header and pipe warms up it seals itself from expansion. (I'm using the o-rings I got from WHH)
