My new boat
Hello
Now is my new boat arrived home it is a MHz Dragon Drag Boat
I have also ordered a gearbox from MHz to be used in giving 33% more rpm. on both screws
My plan is to create a "real" drag boat with 2 screws which are subsurface and a rudder in the middle of the boat and for power plant, used a Zenoah twin in-line
Know it becomes a bit of a project but now I have my Magnum 57 to look after, plus a great forum where you can ask so it will go
I would like to ask whether there are some who know which way the screws are turning on a real drag boat ex. is the left screw spinning Clockwise or counter Clockwise ?

RE: My new boat
Hello
It is not an entirely flatbottom it is more like a soft V
MHZ writes that it can operate with twin screws
I have read that on a real dragboat they are turning inwards
the left screw are spinning Clockwise and the right counter Clockwise

Go to www.dragboatalley.com they can help out with your question. We raced dragboats for years but never twin screws. So we really are not sure which way they turn? We do know if they put the props on the wrong sides that the boat will go backwards when throttled.

RE: My new boat
Nice looking boat. That is modeled after a Top Alchohol Flat Bottom hull which is a single screw. The twin screws are on the Top Fuel hydros.
Hey, keep at it though. Your R & D may help the big boys out. Just because the TAF's aren't twin screw now doesn't mean they won't be in the future.
Here is one I made.
Have fun with your project

RE: My new boat
I envy you guys who get up over 40 or 50 mph. I have had a lot of WHH boats and 40 seems real fast to a weekend boat basher like me. Ur magnum is a great boat to have around until u get ur rocket completed. My son and I have really enjoyed the reliability and ease of the enforcer line. We have had everyone except the ilex. Awesome product. Any way good luck on ur new build. here's a few of our enforcers and a crappy phone vid from last weekend....

RE: My new boat
The drag boat was finished, run and sold 2 years ago.
I used to think 40 was fast too but I get bored and want to go faster. Unless a boat goes above 65 now, I quickly lose interest.
