Gel build-up in GAS IV bags
Have any of you see this gel build up in the iv gas bag before? I am using 87 octane and hp2 oil. 10 ounces to one gallon, I remove all the gas from the bag every time i run. These bags are like 3-4 weeks old. ran about 2-3 times only. It happened to both of my boats!

Yup seen it,
you are running a recycled bag or a cheap one.
what were you using?
a Secure?
some Secure bag don't work, get yourself some Baxter.

yup, a "secure" bag. Hmmm so you think it's the actual bag? Yes, I already ordered 4 new baxter bags from Connors. By the way, "of course this caused a problem today in the lake until i figured it out". [:@]

I've seen that happen too. Been useing gas bags from Gaspartsplus.com for years and never had one ever gum up.
The Buck bags are made for holding all the types of fuel we run. The tabs on each side are just great for mounting it in your hull.OOOO by the way I've been running Coleman Fuel w/ 8oz. Amsoil for the last 5-6 years.

Looks just like the one I bought from that guy on Ebay.
I run Baxter bags now. Must be 8 or 9 months on my first one and still no problems.

RE: Gel build-up in GAS IV bags
Just wanted to let you know that I ordered my Gas bag from The Connors and have already got them. I ordered 5 of the 500ml bags and when I opened my shipping package to my surprise there were a few extra's added.
Not sure why, but these are people that seem to be doing what ever it takes to make there customers happy, at there expense. All I can say is they are great people to do bussiness with and go the extra mile for there customers.
You can belive they will get my orders, if they have what I need, and I will check first with them.
GREAT PEOPLE; [sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif]
Thanks Randy

How do you guys tie down your baxter bags? they don't seem to have the holes to tie wrap them in. And yes butch they look identical, and from the looks of it, it is a "SECURE" bag. THIS CAUSED ME MAJOR HEADACHES IN THE LAKE YESTERDAY AND MADE ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL! (HAVING MY BOAT STALL SEVERAL TIMES, THAT IS NOT WHAT I AM KNOWN FOR IN THE LAKE).

Yep, I had the same bag - Secure.
You can't see it but I have my Baxter bag zipped tied to that noodle jammed into the front of the boat.

On my race Monohull I have 2 hooks in my engine rails that I zip tie my fuel bag to (pics below). In my hydro, I just stuff the bag in the nose. On my woody I have a tray that I ziptie the bag to.

RE: Gel build-up in GAS IV bags
Those Secure bags they are selling absolutely don't work. More than half dozen people tried using them at our lake including myself and most never even made it to the water. Had one in a boat standing up in my garage and the seam let loose and ruined about $40.00 worth of fiberglass matt and cloth on the floor near the boat soaked in fuel and oil nevermind the smell and fire hazard.
The nipple tubing in the bag was all in a ball melted shut. And it doesn't make a difference if it is pump gas, race gas, colemans or what because they all eat them up. They usually start to shrivel and deform immediately upon fueling.
