Im in the middle of gluing my deck to my hull i had separated, and was wondering what you guys use. i had all ready tried automovtive silcone and that didnt work becuase it kept sliding the the hulls walls. i was thinking some caulking, i well come outin a even beadand stay firm so it wont slide down.

If you insist on that type of product, a good name polyurethane sealant would work ok, but nothing beats actually glassing them together. Strips of cloth, or even heavy (1.5oz) mat could be used with the proper resin.

i think its going to be hard to glass it because the boat has a nice finish and i dontwant to ruin it.and the is no way i can glass the insideall the way up front, the hull is 6' long and no room to get in it.

Have a look at the pictures in this thread. Then reconsider the effort required to glass/mat it in. The damaged happened with one flip landing the wrong way at full throttle.

if i where to glass it how would i go about it to do it right, what i needed for prep work and materials. also when it is all set and done it needs to have a 3/16" over hang all around the boat.

Since you have already tried to silicone it, glassing it will be harder, but if done correctly much stronger. The silicone will need to be entirely removed so that the resin will bond properly to the hull & deck you are trying to join.

You can glass it from the outside by lightly grinding down the affected area & applying a thin layer of glass to it, then sand back & use a filler to fair it in nicely, then sand & paint. I have done this often enough on Hydros where you can't get to the front of the sponson.

You can use the Bondo made for fiberglass cars like `Vette's but you have to work quickly as it doesn't waste time in setting up.

Go with the 2 part epoxy glus chuck a little bit of talcum powder in it to thicken it up that way you will get a thicker bonding join the talcum powder will also allow you to dress the join if you have as it will make the epoxy a bit easier to sand
