Help with MHZ Counter Rotating Gear Box
Hello All!!!
I need a little help. I am in need to split and rebuild the gear box as the bearing seals went south and leaked some gear lube...gears and case are fine but bearing seals are shot...might as well replace with the good stuff while it is split.
MANY months ago I stumbled across a thread on this on either Jims or RCU and I cannot find it for the life of me. It had the Boca Bearing Part numbers and a real quick How-To on getting it split and put back to gether (pictures and all).
ANY help here will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
Thanks in advance,
Trey

RE: Help with MHZ Counter Rotating Gear Box
I received the brg's and they look good. There are three different brg's in the gear box. Six for the small gears and six for the big gears. the input and output shaft brg's are sealed. They also supporting Collet's and cables. So I bought the best brg's they had to those three brg's. Before i took it a part i spun the gear box with a high speed die grinder and it had some vibration at high speed. That is why i replaced the brg's. The tolerances on the new ceramic brg's are about the best money can buy. So when I get it back together I'll let yeah know if the vibration is gone. I bet it is, just checking the play in them you can tell alot of difference. More latter.

RE: Help with MHZ Counter Rotating Gear Box
Update on the gear box an dbearings:
I emailed Boca and they were VERY helpful. The original bearing numbers posted above were total $205...Boca helped me chose a diffreent bearing setup that will outperform the ones above AND saved me $50 in the process. Great service. Bearings are "in the mail."
part numbers and prices listed below:
6 pieces SMR607C-2YS @ $13.95 each = $83.70 &
6 pieces SMR697C-2YS @ $11.95 each = $71.70.
Total = $154.40. Shipping is by UPS and free.
