RE: modified zens
I have a VJ55 and went with the M5 upgrade from WHH. Sometime in the future I will be buying the new EVO RCMK motor from Gizmo. I also replaced my clutch with the retro from whh, but just today I removed the clutch and installed a collet. RCMK also make a cylinder upgrade for the Zens. What kind of speeds are you getting out of your stock motor?

RE: modified zens
The best I have seen is 41.7 but have been playing with props, pipe length, CoG, and strut height/angle. The retor clutch weighs about 1 lbs so I removed it for testing and also removed the choke from carb. Will get to test it on the lake tomorrow. I did put it on my small pond just to check everything out. The one thing I notice was idle is much higher, so I will be tuning on the carb for awhile tomorrow.

I could not see your pipe but a friend has a BJ55 and had it GPS'ed at 54MPH...crazy. The prop and the pipe were the two major gains and he had a mod cylinder head...He was using the Bonzi Quiet Pipe (not sure of the length from exhaust flange to cone) and a Propshop 6717-3 prop with the WHH M5 mod cylinder. If I remember, he needed to make some major adjustment to the depth and the trim of the strut but I was not paying close enough attention to the details. It was just nuts to watch that thing fly around the cove! He removed the clutch because it failed and never replaced it...
Warehouse Hobbies now has an M6 mod cylinder and I have heard that it is quite the value for the performance gains!
Roger, I enjoyoed the chat Friday! The RCMK EVO was in the Mail when I arrived home yesterday!!!!

Did get to run the BJ this afternoon, but had some problems and people stopping by side tracking me. Only got a few pictures will try an post them tomorrow night (But have to fix flex shaft first). My best speed today was 41.5 (X472 prop), water was rough, about blew it over and was not even running very fast. Changed props (prather 275) and the boat really seem to love it. I will post more info tomorrow night (have been into the beer this aftyernoon).

O'neill Brothers are a good company to deal with, and they do freight over seas no worries. I have seen one of their mod cylinders on a 231 and it went well, the owner is very happy with it. The workmanship looks good.
