We lost a friend - soundguykaraoke50
It is with a heavy heart that I just read on another forum that our friend Tony - soundguykaraoke50 recently passed away.
Tony had been an active member on this forum for a few years and had plenty to share. His collection of boats was significant - as was his love of the hobby.
You will be missed Tony. [&o]

After just doing a search, this site might be our best bet on finding anything out: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/baltimoresun/ .

RIP fellow boater. He's the only one I knew that had anything near the collection of Matt. Things like this really hit close to home.

While I didn't know him personally I do recall him chiming in from time to time when I was asking questions. Sorry to hear this.

From what I've gathered, Tony found out around mid-April of this year that he had bladder and colon cancer. He thought that going through chemotherapy that he was going to beat it.
You can look up his obituary here: http://www.evansfuneralchapel.com/index.cfm .

Then another doc told him another operation could fix it and so he decided to have it done,he told me he was a little worried about it but thought what the heck. The op worked and he was then able to resume his boating fun only to be struck down with cancer, talk about bad luck.No one deserves that sort of luck let alone someone like Tony who was such a decent guy.
I will miss him as i enjoyed his contributions to the forum and his chats in private and email ,we both used to laugh about the fact that we didnt allways agree on things but rather than get upset i think he enjoyed our little debates as did i and i have to admit its what got us talking and we became good pals.I would like to say i admired his spirit and he never once complained about his problems and allways seemed so upbeat about things when i spoke to him ,ill be drinking a toast to him tonight for sure he will be sadly missed but not forgotten.

Even know I am new here, and never had any discourse with Anthony, I give my condolences to his family and friends.

RE: We lost a friend - soundguykaraoke50
I stoped by and spent a few min with Tony on Sept 29th. He was happy to be back at home. He had been in and out of the hospital several times by this point. We talked about how he was doing. I did not think he was as bad off as he was. He was so frail looking. If he was 90 pounds that was a lot. I wish I had spent more time with him that day. About a week later I called and found out that he was back in the hospital. That was the last I heard from him. His mom told me he was not allowed any visitors or phone calls. I lost his moms info and could not get intouch with him for a few weeks. I finally called a friend, and was told the news of his passing.
Tony was a great friend. He helped me set up my first gas boat. He gave me all the help I ever needed. I have a lot to be thankfull for due to Tony. He was a blast to be with. He spoke about a bunch of you guys a lot. Martno1fan, Ron, Dreamin hemi, justaddwata. Just to name a few. I can't rember them all. I will tell everyone this. Running his r/c boats was the best time for him. He loved every min of it. I have seen his colection of boats. About 80-100 at least 30 or so were ready to run at all times.
He will be missed by a lot of people.
