I have them in my drag cat and it does a good job keeping water out. Most people hate them though

i have 2 in my nemesis cat and 1 in my fountain boat. i like them, they work great. i guess the idea is to maintain them, as in keeping crap out of them. so they can work right

They are better known by their other name, autosinkers. They might drain some while the boat is underway but when the boat is stalled they usually introduce water at close to the rate of open holes, possibly faster as ball usually pumps back and forth no matter the orientation to level and fills the boat with water.

As said they must be clean to work. Keeping the inside of your hull clean will help. Remove the bailer to clean is a must !

I have used them on many builds.
You can also drill a small hole at the top of the transom on one side.
Lift the bow straight up to drain water !

I have them in all my Boats, And as said you must keep the inside of your Boat clean so no rubbish can get around the Bailer as they will not work, I have found the aeromarine ones are the best as they have a wire mess to help stop rubbish getting in them, But still before every run make sure all is clean and you won't have any problems.
