Hi Tman

I dont know for sure what the difference is, but I know the one from Gizmo is supposedly modified. My guess is the one at DDM is just a standard top end from the RCMK 30cc engine......just my guess though

ORIGINAL: tman52806

Wonder why DDM has it for $175, what's the difference?

ORIGINAL: mandroidxl

Tman!!

Go take a look at Gizmomotors. They have a 30cc bolt on modified top end that they say will put out 7hp. And it will bolt right on the the s-254. I think the kit is about 280.00.

CAll them first because Ithink they need to know which engine you are putting it on.......

Let me know if you get it, as Iam thinking about doing the same, but Iprob wont do it till next year. I would really be interested to see how much more speed this modification would provide.

Dave, plug is wet, I replaced flywheel key. What should the compression be when tested? Is doing a compression test different on a 2 cycle compared to a 4 cycle? Should I test "squish"?
Dry the plug/try a new one the plug should only be damp not wet , wet means it's flooded( a common problem ) When you remove the plug pull the engine over a few times
and check how much fule sprayes out GROUNDTHEPLUGWIREWHENYOUDOTHISTOAVOIDFIRE if you get a lot turn the boat over and repeat with the engine upside down
until very little comes out.
As far as compression two strokes are done the same way but many variables when checking because of the basic design of the engine
as far as transfer port height etc., the engine should pull over crisp and pop good when you pull it over.

Just did a compression test on my engine... no oil in cylinder first pull 30 to 45psi, second pull oil in cylinder up to 50 to 60psi and maxed out at that. Is this good or is my ring leaking?

thanks Dave I will check that out on Sunday.
thanks
Gordon

Worked a lot more with four strokes and in the shop 100 psi or under no start but like I said two strokes are different due to design.

tootalltechie, make sure your ignition coil is set a business card thickness away from the flywheel. Make sure needle settings are correct for the 644 carb you’re using. It’s a process of elimination with these darn things. Start with the basics and keep it simple. You will get it.

mandroidxl, I have always used amsoil saber 100:1 @ 6oz per gal with 87 oct fuel. If you open up one of my motors compared to any other motor that doesn’t run amsoil you will see how dirty in side the others are. Amsoil burns very clean. Never had a problem. Awesome premix oil. Correct on the K30 jug. Bruce at Gizmo completely modifies the motor. I have one of his motors and it is a real beauty. The port work he gives it on the cnc machine is awesome as well as the hand blending he performs on it makes it a real smoken motor. Daves top end kit is a stock jug only. Bruce also has stock parts as well.

Dave, magnum, just changed my piston ring. compression test... with out oil 50psi, with oil 85 to 90 psi. "squish" 0.9mm looks like that might be it, check in the afternoon

edit
thanks everyone for the info
Gordon

Edit
Unable to try family stuff

Edit
tried to start my engine today... no go. first try it burped, switch to choke off... nothing. spark plug not wet like before. turned boat upside down nothing came out plug hole, oh I was to pull the start cord too doh!

Edit
coil less than business card... more like 2 layers of thin paper, business card too thick no spark
carb set to spec
if spark plug dry no fuel.. right... not dry but not wet
I think my compression is low,

Edit
Tony @ WHH told me compression should be 175 to 180psi
well looks like it is a ring or cylinder.... makes me think I should have replaced the whole top end.

Edit
New ring .. still not high enough compression. going to pop for top end kit and hope my boat sees water this summer.

Edit
Just ordered a M5 top end, machined intake, and gaskets.

I'll loan you a engine if you want to run till it comes back ........... I have 2 new Zens 26's here and tons of parts - you only had to ask and I would have what you needed right here in Prince George.

Cheers

thanks Randy, I sent clutch and motor mounts as well, I should have kept that stuff figured it was only matter of days. It took 4 days to get there hope to get it back in same amount of time.
edit

My engine is done just waitig for it now Tony told me a few things I did
1: I shortened my rope by tieing a knot in the rope so it would not get sucked into the recoil if handle came off again doh!
2: there were internal issues with my carb.
All said and done sending to Tony saved me money if I had taken it to a local small engine shop.

edit
If everything goes as planned I should have my engine back by Fri.

edit
Received my engine this morning, engine installed, engine test tomorrow if weather good. After installing my engine I marked the carb screws with tiny dabs of red paint to show factory setting. I realize that I'm at 1900 feet above sea level and settings may change but good starting point.

edit
well my engine started just like the first time
... choke... pull... kick
... choke off... WOT... pull... start
throttle works like a dream, push (brake) kills engine
fail-safe works when radio transmitter turned off
water cooling system works
just have some minor lock tight issues

Thanks again Pam & Tony and the guys at WHH

edit
Had my team pro at the lake ..
A day of first
First tank of gas
First spin out
First fetch
First time to turn a boat into a weed wacker
First lost prop
First dunking
First 40 mph with a neutral setup
First YouTube video of boat on water
All around great day

Well after a few recoils - a couple dog drive nuts - and many pulls it is alive

Too Tall's WHH is on the water .........

He had a day of running - stalling - rowing - running - stalling - rowing - running - weeds - fetch boat - running - stick - fetch boat -dead recoil- redo recoil and nut again - running - lose prop (then break new prop - so we loaned him one) running with very cool flip/wipeout and one last row of the day. His boat runs good

By the smile I thinkGordonhad fun

Glad you enjoyed yourself Gordon (hope your wife did too) - I stuck a engine together night before so we could play and mine ran good too ....

I did a short video of Gordon's first couple runs (and the weed wacking experience)

http://youtu.be/wcoGl0y_jeU

Cheers Mate it made it to the water

Randy

Hello guys Merry Christmas!!!
Here is my newes vid of my Mag 57 with Xforce 26 + M6 upgrade , The boat is very stable and is running excellent!!
www.youtube.com/watch
Do you think I have to move the strut up a couple of degrees?
It handles very well only when steering at mid speed it tends to woble a little bit but I m thinking to install a center turn fin in the drive as in the picture.
Any suggestion is welcome
Thanks

Very cool. We love the insane boats. My Son and I have three insanes right now. A cat, hydro and the new G6 rigger. The hydro has a RCMK full mod motor from Bruce at Gizmo motors. You’re going to enjoy the insane hydro. Handles like a dream and fast. The bass tracker sounds like a lot of fun. Great fishing your way. I have an Aunt in Fairhope and the bass fishing is great there. My cousin gets alot of shrimp and fish as well. Hang in there it’s worth the wait for your new boat. Enjoy
I am about to pull the trigger on an Insane G6 Rigger and was wondering if you have any interior photos or a build thread that would help me with the layout and setup? I have built two FE-30's and this will be my first gas boat...I used to race nitro.

Hi guys i finally got a gas hull even though its not an enforcer i will be running mostly enforcer gear and thought this would be the best place to ask.

Anyways ive always wanted to run a wet exhaust and finally found one lol but more as personal preference as most run a dry exhaust how are you guys finding your boats running the wet system ? Any replies would be great.

Sorry if this double posts

I realize it's over a year since last reply but here goes.....
I've read through the 50+ pages and wow, lots of great info here, thanks to everyone!
I recently purchased a gorgeous Magnum 57 and am now having starting issues.

I ran boat for 5 minutes a week ago, all good
ran boat a few days ago for 6-7 mins, all good then brought in to check hoses, temps, etc and add more fuel.
I haven't been able to start since and tried all I can think of to no avail.
Here's the starting procedure that prior owner told me to use( I have other gas and FE boats too)
TX on, boat on switch on, thumb over carb stack to choke, 1 pull, wet thumb good
2nd pull boat starts, at least that's what it did twice for me.
I'm getting spark but it's small and am going to pickup a new plug tomorrow to see if that works.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
