Default Ordered a Rio 51z

Despite the problems i had with my old Rio 51, i decied to give the new Rio 51z a try.
I have a few questions: Does anyone know where i can buy the Grimracer starter belt-as shown in the video from AC.
Also, i am interested in adding a clutch to the boat, but i have no idea where to start looking....or if there is even room in my Rio for one.
[sm=shades_smile.gif]

Also if any Rio Z owners would like to chime in on their experiences thus far...

I use this for my nitro planes up to about .90

www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p

Now sure how well it would work for a gasser as the 50+cc planes Ihave just get the prop flipped. A 26cc boat may be OK?!?!

Verado, your one of the first here on the boards.  We're all waiting to hear your experiences since there are none out there yet for this new Rio.

To easily start 26cc gas engines you usually need at least a Dynatron or better yet a Model 4 and both will need 24 volt battery source. For power I use two lawn tractor batteries side by side in a marine battery box(they fit right in nicely).

Dynatron,

Model 4,

Ahh i had no idea the starter would be so costly and a pain in the rear. I guess i will just stick with the pull start!
Onto the next question... what do you guys think about installing a clutch? Where should i order one from?

Looks as though the boat will arrive in roughly a week

You will need this part if you want a clutch.
http://www.whhonline.com/product_p/rmb1055.htm

You will need to dis-assemble the belt pulley and set it aside for now. The stock engine mount should bolt up to the clutch bell housing with no or little modification to the engine mount.

As for the belt pulley, the bolt holes might line up on the flywheel holes once you remove the pull start assembly. Do this check first should you wish to use the belt starting system at which time you will need a hand held starter. Otherwise the pull start works great once the engine is tuned.

keep in mind that the clutch that's shown is for a square end drive shaft. It has been my experience that you'll have to call for the clutch to be made to except a round collet. Tony's stuff is worth its weight in gold so well worth it
