Hi all. I'm home now but off work until next Wednesday. All I really want to do now is sleep as that's one thing that you don't get in the hospital. I think that I've been up since about 3:00 this morning after finally getting to sleep around midnight.

Now Ron, haven't you heard that sleeping on the coach is hard on the back? Sleeping in the shop is much better

Hi Ron, glad your feeling better. All joking aside I've been treating myself to a glass of Metamucil everyday and I would suggest you give that a shot or two if the Doc says its ok.
I'm not a oatmeal eater but that stuff is packed with soluble fiber as well.

I've been eating a lot of oatmeal lately, before this last episode. OK, most of it has been in the form of cookies but also have been getting the Quaker Oats oatmeal in the little nuker bowls at work. The brown sugar and cinnamon ones are good but lately they've have the apple ones, so-so.

It's hard to keep me out of here!
A few years ago I had a quad bypass and was a Moderator at the time but didn't miss much time out of here thanks to a laptop in the hospital. Can't sleep in there anyway so I might as well surf the 'net.

I eat oatmeal on a regular basis. Trying to be proactive. Although, at best I think it's countering my bad eating habits. I do the old fashiontube of Quaker Quick Oats. It's ground whole oats. Can't choke down the whole oats. I add raisins and a little butter(which is made from yogurt. Brummel and Brown to be exact). It's my understanding that regular oatmeal is better for you than the flavored stuff. Adding raisins makes a huge difference in flavor of the plain stuff...

Stay healthy!

Thanks Candy.
To the others that were keeping up on me, I went in to see my doc today about the kidney problem that was found during a CAT scan. He doesn't want anyone to mess with it now but will be keeping an eye on it and scanning it again in 5 months for any changes.
That's not even the bad news. I've got to do some serious changes in my life otherwise he said that I'll be lucky to be alive in 2 years. He's really worried about my cholesterol levels and blood sugar as I'm a Type II diabetic.

One other bit of really bad news that hasn't been mentioned on this site yet but has been around on 2 others.
December 27th I lost my 7 week-old grandson to what appears was SIDS. The funeral was New Years Eve and burial was Tuesday. My son and daughter-in-law are living with me until they found a place so it happened here at my home. If anyone has noticed that I haven't been in here much the past week, this is why.

My son had a SID so I know how it feels. It was the worse day of all of our lives. Time is the only healer.

Hey Ron,  Glad your recovery is proceeding well.
Remmber the old saying,
If I had known I was going to live this long,  I would
have taken better care of myself.
Why is it that I have to be an old geezer,
before I learn this. Well its still not to late [I hope]
 Good health to all

Here's the little guy that we lost. He was not my blood grandson but through the legal system he is as my son was listed as his father. It's a big messy story but all of that didn't matter as my wife and I plus my son and the rest of the Olson clan took him in as our own.
This shot was taken on December 21st.
