RE: proboats 18
I see no one has answered you; hate that. I'm strictly a beginner when it comes to engines.... I sent mine to an engine guru to go thru. He adjust my engine's timing and set the head clearance etc.
You asked to get "more power"; not more speed. Simplest answer is to up the nitro pecentage you run. You can also check your engines head clearance, if it's high, you can lower it some. To give you an idea, mine .12 engine's clearance is set to .010.... which is a conservative setting.... some run closer settings.
A longer pipe length is more powerful/has more torque than a short one.
Things like tweaking the engine timing etc are beyond me.
Why do you want "more power"; what are you trying to accomplish?

The problem with "tweeking" the engine is it can weaken the parts you've changed. If you're not going to race your boat, stick with the stuff TCHedOff listed and call it good

It's a sport motor so there isn't a lot that can be done if you're on a budget. By the time that you got done sending it to someone for tweaking you'd be better off by buying something like the OS .18 marine. The stock carb is restrictive and the exhaust system isn't really that well tuned? Ever hear of someone saying something like "It really woke up once it got on the pipe!"? Nope. Try working with the exhaust some.
