<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; ">I read a post by someone saying they “used a Octura flex coupler to a solid shaft”.</span><br style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; " /><br style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; " /><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; ">Has anyone else done this?</span>
<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; ">Did you have any problems arise when you did it? Was your engine mounted solid or did you use rubber mounts? Which way would be better as I can see pros & cons either way.</span><br style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; " /><br style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; " /><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; ">I have a couple of vintage rc boats with solid shafts but unable to find u-joints with a 1/4-28 thread to a 3/16 solid shaft to upgrade engines. I thought about connecting straight to the solid shaft with a flex coupler but was not sure it was a good idea.</span><br style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; " /><br style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; " /><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; ">Most of the u-joints I found are for electric motors and do not list the thread size. Who has a 1/4-28 (for .21 Rossi & .61 Webra crankshaft thread sizes) u-joint for a 3/16 solid shaft?</span>

I have a hand full of them male /female 1/4 20 and 3/16 shaft let me look in my boxes needle bearing require a lot of attention.
Call Octura and ask for a catalog as your looking to buy. 847 674 7351 its free
NO they have no website. they do business the old school way. Rubber iso mounts help with noise. Solid is loud
I like to order from here they send what you pay for

this is what I have they are .187 dia with a setscrew. You can drill-em out and re-tap.I also have a solid shaft that I have no use for as well as 2 needle bearing that fit 5/16 copper pipe.
They may be heat treated, the dog bones You need a OC810ML male end of a U-joint 1/4 ID 7/17 OD with 2 setscrews I think bit I may be wrong as what you want.
Where is this going into.?

<div>(To attach the motor to the shaft.)</div>That page lists exactly the one I need. The UNIDLX1428 is hardened, plated and has two set screws to hold it on...<div>But I am interested in the solid shaft you have. PM me a price.</div><div>
</div><div>Thanks for your help,</div>
