I just found out Jag rc makes noss for nitro engines! Have any of you guys heard of that? If so does anyone know if it will really hurt your motor or just cause it to wear quicker? And can it be used in a boat?

I tried the nos set up on my .67 size cat, went like a bat out of hell for 3 or 4 runs and then the crack shaft broke.....Not worth it in the long run, very costly.Work's great on gas zenoah's though!
I see your from loudon nh, we are in milford nh,about a hour from you.My brother just called me about a hour ago from lilly pond in laconia and I guess there are 5 huy's out there right now running some nitro boats.
Is there alot of people up there that race them?Let me know, im me or email me at [email protected]

I am fourteen and I dont race officially so I don't know if there are alot of other rc boater's near me. But me and my friends just race for fun.

Nitrous oxide for 2 stroke glow engines is a complete joke. Don't waste your time, money buying the kit, and money fixing your boat from using the kit. Nitrous falls int he same catagory as a turbo charger or supercharger for these types of engines. They just don't belong. It's nothing more than a "wow hey guys look what I've got".
Getting the nitrous system to work in a glow engine is nothing short of a wild crap-shot in the dark.
Do yourself a favor and upgrade in other, more usable areas, like getting your engine tuned right, upgrading to a better tuned pipe, or just getting your boat set up properly as a whole. If then you still aren't satisfied with the results, upgrade your engine and prop.

Dude.... Lemme give you a quick rundown of what I know...Which is a very small list compared to what i dont know, LOL.
I ordered an NOS system (from "NOS SYSTEMS, INC) for my Harley Stroker engine (98 cubic inches) and after reading the instructions NEVER put it on.
Big bold warnings, "CAUTION, MAY CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE!" Hmmmm........
Just what I wanted to hear, an exploding jug just three inches away from my groin....NOT!!!
Nitrous is an oxidizer, the intake ports rae slightly modified to allow the gas to enter, then another port is added to the intake
to shoot a stream of raw gas in at the same time. More fuel + Nitrous = Throttle-in-a-bottle, or more plainly said 25% more HP.
Now I am not sure if the system works exactly the same for nitro, but I would risk a $300 motor a lot sooner that my hoggy motor :-)
Sounds like somthing worth playing with!

I just read the link. Hmmmm, thirty seconds for 90 bucks, the chargers can be had for about $12 a case of twenty from commercial food supply stores, whipped cream makers.
How is the extra fuel supply happening? Hmmmm.
I like the post about the engine "sneezing parts all over the lake", LOL
I can picture that!
I think with a couple "whip-ettes" and some home-depot type hardware one could rig up something cheaper than 90 bucks,
the trick is to get it to fire at MAX throttle, which is what NOS Systems instructions say, only at max.
They said most engine failures come from the system being 'on' (or leaky seals in the valves) at first ingnition.
A build up of gas and/or n.o.s. at first ignition and KABLEWIE!!!!
