RE: My madly modded hammer
ejp, the boat is really taking shape! Keep that flexi stub very well oiled/greased...it'll wear down the brass tubing if you don't. I've already replaced mine once, but it's not at all hard to replace once it wears.....ahh, the cost of doing things the "efficient" way LOL.
Glass that tube inside the hull all the way up to about an 1/2'' from the end of the brass tube...you never can be to stable!
I don't know if you also picked them up, but one thing this hull definately needs with surface drive are turn fins. Mount them as far out to the sides and as low to the transom as possible, because once the boat gets onto plane the'll need to be in the water to turn!
Keep us updated, the boat looks awesome!

Bryan

Ya, I have them but I think I'll make bigger ones. You can't have too much control. Thanks for the compliments. I have a lot of time in this little boat. It should be a rocket now though. I'll keep you updated.

Being the same hull as my EP Hammer, you probably won't need bigger fins. Remember, the more you've got in the water the more drag you have the slower your boat....so use the smallest fins you possibly can.
Just wait untill you see that rooster tail...you'll be hooked!

I've got an inch and a half hanging below the trailing edge of the transom.
If you're going to make them yourself, make them longer and adjustable so you can play with the depth of them to suit your exact needs. Just make sure they're very strong, and razor sharp!
