Default more questions....miss bud related...

ok guys.....me and some friends have just come into some miss bud's. we have worked out a deal with a guy that has a whole bunch of them (the exact number is unknown, but probably 12+). They all have some damage of some kind, some more than others. So the deal we worked out is we repair two of them for him, and he will give us enough of them to put together 3 complete boats.

So my friend has started on the first one using some fiberglass repair stuff, etc.. so far its going great, and he shot it with a few coats of paint today....hopefully i'll have pics up later.

so here are my questions. as i understand it, there are 2 styles of the boat. one is a surface drive, and the other is a sub surface. these i think would be sub surface. they have skeg on the bottom that has the prop shaft through it. Is this how they all are, or is there really a difference in the two? If there is a difference, can the same upgrades be done to it that i have read about on here???? is there anything else that we need to know about these hull styles???

here are some pics of the glass work, etc.

what about the added weight? I will be interested to see if the boat does not try to dive into the water or dig the repaired sponson side into the water. My repaired hull, when I gas it real good, slaps the front end down to the water and then trys to bury the left sponson. If i go at it slow I might get up on plane,,,but no guarantees.
Your boats look good. Nice job.

yeah, im a little worried about the balance as well.....see, at first, we put in some of that spay foam that expands to try to fill in the spots behind the holes....that way we would have some sort of backing to put the gunk over. Well, as it turns out, that stuff sucks up water, so we don't want that!!!! So Ray (one of the guys) tried digging most of it out, yet some still remains, and that adds weight as well....So we'll see what happens.

as it turns out, we didn't even need the spray foam stuff, cause the gunk we were using was thick enough that it didn't matter....oh well...ya live ya learn, right?

water testing should be some time next week...hopefully without mishap....
