Hello All,
Today I received my Nitro Hammer that I bought on ebay...so siked. Anyway i have a few question's ...Okay here it goes:
1). What kind of performance pipe can I upgrade the exhaust to and would it have to tune the engine ?
2). The prop has a small crack in it...would this cause some performance issues and also what kind is the best to upgrade?
3) Lastly...Is 30% nitro the highest I can go before there are problems ??? Also would it mean tuning also the Engine ?
Okay I think this is all . Please do not ask me to read the other Hammer thread...Although ver
good but, left some questions to be asked.
Okay Regards for now...

PS: I do want to acknowledge that my selection on a starter nitro boat has all to do with
the gents on this forum...whom with out their assistance I sure would be up a creek
Thanks to all!!! Keep it up!!!!

1. macs tuned pipe, yes you will most likely have to tune in the engine again any way.
2.I'm guesin the boat is used then? if you want performance get the new shaft off www.offshoreelectrics.com and some new carbon prop props to try.
3.If it's the stock ya 30% is prolly as high as you want to go,any higher and your probobly asking for trouble.
hope this helps

Would you know who sells the Mac pipe ?
Also what is the best nitro brand to use ?
I have heard that the prop you suggested does not change anything.
Also would anyone have pics of their hammer ? Please post.

WA check members gallery and NH official thread for lots of hammer pics..got a few in my gallery.
my opinion for propeller since my hammer is for fun boat and not for racing so far, i'm satisfied with stock one for the reason that i don't worry alot if i hit hard debris or run aground, coz with plastic prop it will absorb the inpact and break and will not damage the shaft, tubing even the hull, got 3 times prop breaks eversince and it only cost my $8, if i'm using metal prop i do no what gonna happen, maybe more..but if i'll go racing or challenging with somebody i'll get metal prop,or for a reserve one might be.
with nitro fuel i started 20%nitro 18% oil, then 14% oil, now i'm using 20%nitro 12% oil not really particular with brands...i prefer 20/14 coz its easy to start and enough lubrication...i'm worried a little with 12% oil but i add few drops of castor oil..got it from hobbytown.

eas___1990,
FirstI like what you did with your hammer. I need to know which Mac pipe should I get...I looked up the web site you advised but, there are different sizes...so how I do i figure which one i should use? Also so would that be 30% nitro with 18% caster oil.
What type engine mod have you done to your boat ?

Winged Avenger

well from what I hear they are in the low to mid 20's. As far as modded you may get close to 30. I have also heard that
if you get a much larger engine than you are hitting close to mid 30's. Hey thats pretty good in my book. lets put it this way
thanks to the fellows on this forum that i have decided to get a nitro. Endless information. Just take a look around this forum.
Also I have looked in other forums and this boat always seems to be the popular choice for the begginer to intermediate.
Okay hope this helps.
