Default drive dog / collet spacing

Quick question, what is the typical spacing needed on the drive dog assembly from the strut assembly to account for torque shrinkage on the flex shaft. My app is an 1/8 scale hydro.
I Don't want to twist the cable and bind down on the thrust bearings, thus damaging something or other.

Thanks a bunch,
Jeff

1/8-3/16" is usually plenty in most cases.

It's a tough call as I don't know of any hard and fast rule as to what the gap should be. The length of the cable can make a difference as a longer one can wind up more than a shorter one.

If you see my boss up there, tell him I said ..............., well, I can't put those words in here. I work for a subsidiary of Coors.
