LOL! honestly i'm[sm=bananahead.gif] crazy madly hooked with boats now, it takes all my time, i even cut hours at work [sm=lol.gif]just to either fix, run or drive to LHS for boats...i need help

i think i'll mess-up my sw36 first with outboard since it's easier to mount it than in tc31, i don't want to cut the flexshaft and besides i love tc31.

Well, it would work better on a Cat than on a mono like the SW 36 as basically Cat's and tunnels are pretty much the same things. A .21 would be a good choice for that hull size. Now if you can only pick up a used T-Cat cheap.............

Both boats are modded as you put it, with Twisted Liquid Racing Performance upgrades, The ThunderCat 31 is ToyotaTruckin here in your forum, and of course the Vegas is mine. Twisted liquid makes performance parts for both these boats, but glad you enjoyed the video, we got more to come keep checking site...

HI. I JUST BOUGHT A THUNDERCAT, NEEDLES WERE PRE SET 2 1/2 OUT JUST AS SHOULD BE, ENGINE NEVER STALLED ONCE IN BREAK IN, I'VE GOT ABOUT 10 TANK'S THROUGH IT NOW ON SAME GLOW PLUG. I KNOW I'VE BEEN LUCKY UP TO THIS POINT. AS I'M NEW TO BOATS, I HAVE CARS & TRUCKS, BUT I HAVE FOUND THERE ARE SOME DIFFERENCE! MY FUEL TANK DID LEAK, & IT IS TAKEING ON TO MUCH WATER, I TRIED TO SEAL UP THE DRAIN PLUG BETTER, BUT I DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT! IT'S TAKEING ON ABOUT 2 OR 3 OZ'S PER RUN, ANY IDEAL'S ? & I'M RUNNING 20% 10% OIL SIDEWINDER RIGHT NOW, BUT WOULD LIKE TO INCREASE THAT TO 30% RIGHT NOW THE ENGINE IS RUNNING ABOUT 174 DEG. F COULD SOMEONE TELL ME IF THAT IS TO COOL? THANKS! TERRY. PS. WILL POST SOME PHOTOS LATER.

I run 30%/12% sidewinder and it runs great! as for water in the hull, AUTO BAILERS, one in each sponson at the back they are easy to install , the way I do it is mark where you want them which is as close to the bottom in the center, drill (slowly) with a bit that is to small then use a round file to get a good fit. Use two part epoxy to glue them in! I have never had any problems with them yet.

The drain plug has nothing to do with water getting in. It's the air intakes, so you don't wanna seal them up. Water just splashes into them. I run the boat in really rough water, and I have sometimes up to half an inch of water sitting at the bottom.

THANKS, I DID'NT THINK THAT MUCH WOULD SPLASH THROUGH THEM. BUT I CAN LIVE WITH IT IF EVERYONE IS. I ORDERED A RAM 45 BOAT SAVER BILGE PUMP FROM RC BOYZ, TO KEEP IT PUMPED OUT. CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT .

Never seen one that small before. A 6 dollar autobailer probably would have done just as good or better job, with one in each side of the catamaran.

YEA, BUT IM VERY NEW TO BOATS, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A AUTOBAILER IS. I JUST HAPPEND TO SEE THIS PUMP ON EBAY, & IT WILL ONLY WORK ON ONE SIDE. I ALSO DID'T THINK ABOUT THAT.

Autobailer is practically a one way valve. You could call it a permantent one way drain plug. I plan on getting two of these. You could just turn in one direction that would force the water to the pump, that may work.

Yeah, I get quite a bit of water in every run too when running in the rough stuff.....No biggy, I just use the drain plug. I've always had probs with auto bailers clogging up with debree, then it sticks to the oil....BLAH....the drain plug is nice.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT TEMP. IT SHOULD BE RUNNING. I KNOW WITH THE CARS YOU NEED TO KEEP IT AT LEAST 220F, THE TC, IS RUNNING ABOUT 175 F, WHEN I LEAN IT PAST THAT, I CAN'T SEE ANY SMOKE,& I DON'T WONT TO BURN IT UP.

This engine seems to be fine at any temp really. I always pre-warm mine on the dock till it hits about 160-170, as soon as I drive it and bring it back in it's running around 130. 130 degrees is the temp when I hit 39.2MPH.

hi, could someone tell me if the rudder for the thundercat, & rudder for the shockwave the same ? when i bought my thundercat at hobbytown it was the only one they had, & the rudder was missing. so they gave me one off of a shockwave. i was going to cut it down 1 1/8" as i read on here. but wont to make sure. thanks. terry

terry, i'm pretty sure the 1 and 1/8 " is what you want hanging below the prop, not the amount you cut off. I made that mistake and my rudder is juts a we bit short. Not to bad, but it steered a lot better when it was full length.

They appear to be the very same but remember that the cut is 1-1/8" roughly from the bottom of the lowest prop blade.
