you are better off ditching the tiger drive that is stock on there and instead of getting the hex drive like him you should get the ROTO START, its just like the tiger drive, but better built and will be easy to switch over too

Z... I had the same issue with flex shafts also.. I tried 3 differnt brand name flex shafts ( which i will not name any of them ) and i broke everyone i put in my boat.. I lubed every 1 every time in used the boat.. Every prop was balanced.. Every 1 lasted thru less than 2 tanks of fuel.. So prop and flex shaft gone everytime..1st thing that breaks them is excessive strut angle ( u kick the strut back to get the bow up and it binds the fex shaft ) 2nd thing is engine is not in proper alingment with stuffing tube.. Take the engine out and put the flex shaft in from the engine side with the metal shaft sticking out into the engine compartment.. this will give u a straight line coming out of the stuffing tube to use as a guide.. Make some referance marks in the engine compartment to show both left to right and up and down angle of the shaft.. Remember the engine crank shaft must be in line with the stuffing tube angle both left to right and up and down or the system is in a bind.. Mine was installed from the factory out of alignment both ways. If u look at my pics u will see i had to bend the motor mounts to get it lined up properly.. I have ran 4 tanks of fuel on my flex shaft since doing this procedure and no broken flex shafts... I made some permanent marks for future reference..U should be able to slide the flex shaft in with no effort and it should go right into the collet.. 3/16 shaft and a 3/16 collet if your alingment is off 1/16 or even 1/32 or worse the miss alignment will multiply it self many times when it reaches the end of the flex shaft.. 1/16 doesnt sound like much but it only gets worse with length.. That would be a good nic name for the boat.. THE MISS ALINGMENT.. personally i call mine the THUNDER CHICKEN .. This fixed my flex shaft issue..Has to free up some power also..Triple bonus..no lost props..no lost flex shafts..and it gives my Thunder Chicken wings..

What kind of copper do you have wrapped around your exhaust? Is it the flexible stuff for refigerators or is it something else and also what are the inside and outside diameters of it? I have tried a couple different things but I am having trouble bending it, any sugestions?

3/16...picked it up at the LHS..just keep it pulled up tight against the pipe and bend it around it.. that was piece # 3 so it takes some trial and error..

Mike the hex I got from a friend for a Mach 26 bolted right on he says it was a about 8$. It's so much easier to handle.I moved the fuel tank 1in. forward and down as much as posible. I see a lot of cooling tubes on header pipes ,do I need this in texas? Heres some pics of some of my other projecs. My cousin just painted my weedeater boat .So if you need a good paint job the sky is the limit. Also I live on Lake Placid and I use my jet ski for boat reteriving.

Hey Ron, you said a while back you sue Aeromarine or Hughey's flexshafts. Got a favorite of the two? Both my Prather ones dropped out on me, and I'm looking for replacements. Couldn't find Hughey's website. I have the Aeromarine site up, but was wondering what part number it is.

u mean motor is not responsive during throttle?..if this the case check the servo if it's workin', also check the screw in the carb barrel where the linkage it attached should be tight.

If all your electronics and servo check out OK then it may be jetting (check your needle settings).

When mine originally did this it was seeming to be from a combo of a flooded carb, and its flooding the engine. If there is too much fuel in the system (normally it includes some hydro locking too) just working the throttle will not do much good since the engine already has plenty of fuel avail to it, and the only thing that you could do with the throttle is to close the carb enough so that it stalls.

So basically its like your engine already has more than enough fuel to run at WOT.

Well increase the nitro fast man.....those 21's don't like that high of an oil content. You will see that with some 40 50 even 60% nitro will increase performance dramatically. I'm glad to hear that you got a nice 21 in your TC and having fun with it. 440/3 443/3 or 437/3 props i've heard worked well on the hull.

Yup I am running the x440/2 right now and I have an x437/3 in my prop box but I dont really want to prop it down any more because the engine is just singing right along as it is! I think I might have to give the x440/3 a try.... and some 40%-50% fuel as well!

I'm a complete newbie to nitro RC. The manual for this boat is definitely written by someone that shouldn't be explaining things to someone like me. In any case - how the heck do I get fuel into the tank of this thing? I have the kit that includes the fuel bottle and the aluminum 1/4" or so spout. What do I do with that? Am I supposed to take the nipple off of the tank, or what?

Thanks for your patience. I'm about at the point of hooking up a fuel pump to draw air out of the tank with the other end in a cup of fuel to fill it up!

no need to remove the nipple and no need to remove air in the tank only in gas engine needs to remove the air in the tank...draining fuel from tank can be done in many ways: by using a fuel bottle with long snout, squeeze the bottle before inserting to the tank opening, by using manual or electric fuel pump connect it to the fuel line to the carb after disconnecting from the carb.

Well I took the cap off the fuel bottle and squeezed the bottle with the 1/4" spout and sucked up some fuel, took the cap of the fuel tank and squeezed it in ( Ummm does this sound wrong?)

Here is a pic of the tank I have is this what you have?
