Default strut height

ok.the boat sounds good but not as fast as i want.when i turn it screams and runs silly fast.i figure when i turn, the prop comes up like a surface drive.should i raise the strut, and how far is safe without turning the corner and getting a prop in the breeze.40"v with 11cc and prather hardware

I'm guessing that it's a sub-surface drive or isn't it?
If the answer is yes, you can only go so high before you have to change it over to surface drive. When it's leaning, it is bringing the prop to the surface allowing it to free up.
