the .18 in the Aquacraft boat makes more power than the Vertex VX18 in my boat...

At least I know this from messing around iwth the VX18 in 1/10 scale 2wd stadium trucks. the Aquacraft 18, if what I've read is correct, is the same engine as the DTX 18 in the Duratrax Nitro Evader.

Not realy There about the same hp but the VX has more top end then the aguacraft .18 end at 32.000rpms.VX at 40.000 rpms.I'd just looked it up.Plus the Vegas is a bigger and heavyer boat then the Chinese/Proboat Miss Bud hydros.[>:]

Never trust numbers! There used to be a "war" going on over RPM and HP numbers with nothing to back them up. Traxxas at one time claimed 50,000 RPM out of their engines but they were getting their butts whupped from "slower" engines. Nobody, I repeat, nobody is getting 40K out of an .18!

So your saying that any motor manufacture that sayes that there motor can go over 30.000 rpms are full of it?!

I guarantee you there's not a sport .18 that turns 40,000 rpm under a load in a car or boat

I didn't say anything about over 30,000RPM as there are some that have been dyno'ed turning that high but not many.
R/C Car Action quit putting RPM numbers in ads in their magazine as they were getting a little on the outrageous side. OS seems to be close to the truth in what they advertise but I'd like to see some serious numbers and the Dyno readout including fuel, pipe (and it's length), temperature and the Dyno used before believing any of them. The equipment is out there for any manufacturer to use so why don't we see some graphs?
I've seen eBay ads for 70 MPH Radio Shack boats too but would you believe that? Actual speed was like 2.3 MPH.

There was a guy on ebay called com-rcworldwide that used to have graphs.He does have a motor dyno and dynoed the motors that he's selling.[>:]

which really doesnt mean too much. Does he list what dyno he uses? Cause i can make a dyno graph on my computer in 5 minutes that looks real...but isnt.

He'd had a pic's of his dyno.Most of the motors that he'd showed the dyno graphic hp high peak at 32.000 to 36.000 rpm's.

IMO the adjustability of the Vegas wins over the proboat hydros......You go sticking a .18 or a .21 in a proboat hydro and the boats gonna get real flighty especially runnin with other boats...We have some that run here and they get flighty with the .15 they come with....Yeah the Vegas might be heavier but its power to weight ratio is good and makes the boat stable especially since you can adjust it.....To win the race you must finish....Im not knockin what your doing or trying to say.....I actually commend you...I just feel your in a battle thats already lost...Take a poll.... I say for adjustability,power to weight ratio,handling,speed,and RTR you cant beat the Vegas...Yeah you can buy a knockoff boat with a bigger motor but will it be competitve???...I doubt it...JMO

Thankyou for that compliment 1outlaw.I just dont like the looks of the MIss Vegas.I'm not ripping on it but it's not my type of hydro.I love the Miss Bud style boat and the insaine hydro too.I like somthing that looks awsome and nasty/cool look of a boat.The Chinese as better up grades accept one thing,then need flex drive in there boats.But the only what to compete with the vegas domanation in racing is getting a Chinese Miss Bud with the .18 to race against the vegas.It would have a better chance with the vegas then the proboats .15s.[>:] All I'm saying when will proboat get there heads out of there a[:'(]s!!And start to make their boat better to compete in boat races!!Do they want the other company to bet them?The old saying is you snoze you lose!!If proboat keep it up their going to lose!![>:]

Theirs alot of guys who sell nitro motors that say some of their motor top ends at 42.000 rpms that cars.Boat at 38.000 to 40.000 rpms.I think most motors top rpms at 36.000.[>:]

ugh, that one has the Infinity .18...YECH. single needle carb, and doesn't last long...at least in a car. who knows, it might be the ideal boat engine, aside from the fact that it leaks all over the place, lol

They make two version of these hydros.They make a.18 and a .21 hydros.The pics that I'd asked Ron to post for me is a .21.Most .21s have six bolts that hold the head on..15 and the .18 have four bolts that hold the head on.
