i have a stock nitro vee, and i want to get a new prop for it. there are no hop ups. which ones do you guys recommend., i have heard that the octura 440 was a good one, advice would be great.

for the cavitation issue, it could well be how much of the prop is out of the water when turning or how rough the water is as it is the prop your using...

The Nitro Vee is very sensitive to a dinged prop. any deviation will cause it to cavitate.
Regarding replacement prop, try going to Traxxas forum. they have many contibutors there that have upgraded the prop. www.traxxas.com
In order to upgrade prop you also have to replace drive shaft on this Vee
