Default Engine upgrade for Shockwave 36?

I just broke a rod in my motor and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on more power for the boat. I was looking at the O.S. .21 RG-MX with more H.P. and more RPM. Anyone have any ideas, hopefully with minor modifications.

Is that the .21 that I was thinking of? Will there be much modification?

No that is the O.S. .46 VX-M Marine , and yes there will be upgrades/modifications.

There is this engine which would prob be less modification.

I am pretty sure that OS engine is a better quality engine than the Dynamite, but i could be wrong.

Do they have different pitch props available for this boat?

yes....(offshoreelectrics.com has balanced and sharpened props) i would find the dimensions of the current prop, go there, and look for one similar in size, but balanced ad sharpened (that will increase performance as well as the increased pitch)

the SW36 thread mentions better props for this boat...forgot what there were though.

Whats your opinion of going with the O.S. .21 RG-MX? I figured stock is 1.17 HP and the O.S. would be 1.7 HP with more RPM as well. I figured there would not be to much to modify and I would still have the pull start. Plus the cost of the motor isnt to bad ( $150.00 )

it may have more HP and rpm...but you get those HP and rpm levels with a smaller prop...you may have different results with the larger prop...i would give it a try though///

I am going to say to small, example would be a v8 next to a motorcycle engine (you can have both with the same horsepower and the motorcycle engine will have alot more rpms but the v8 will be a better motor in the long run for sure). You do seam pretty set on the .21 if you like it then it is your choice to try it, more than 1 person has said they didn't think the .21 would be the best choice ( But the only persons opinion that matters is yours now). Hope it works out what ever you chose
