Default small outrigger cost?

Just curious, but how much do you guys think an rtr small .12 size rigger would cost? For some reason I just love the way they look, and how simple and small they seem (key work SEEM) to be. I am thinking about selling one of my nitro boats to a buddy and using the profit to get a small rigger. I really dont know the first thing about building but I am pretty creative and with some pointers I could get through it!

I have a little over 250$ in mine excluding TX&RX and thats building from scratch not a kit.....The kit would push the cost up about 50$ more....

That's a remarkably low price for lots of fun.

Man...I really did not keep track, and would probably be afraid to know...but I am betting it is over what a new MV would have cost...but I do have a lot of spare parts I did not use...

If you just want to build one but don't plan on racing, Dumas is clearing out their lil Rascal kits for $31 (last I looked). I don't think I would get their hardware kit though...

Let me see what I can remember for costs for my scratch built rigger...

- $78 for used motor with new piston/cylinder liner
- $70 for an AM radio (if I did it again, I would probably spend more for an FM)\
- $14 throttle servo
- $10 for the prop I worked myself
- $17 octura strut (home made bracket)
- $30 for rudder assembly
- $10 for the plexi I used for the radio box cover
- $60 for the wood (this is a total guess...)
- $10 for the foam core for the sponsons
- $20 in epoxy and superglue (this might be low)
- $2.50 pack of brass tubes used for stuffing tube
- $7 flex shaft
- $5 starting belt
- $3 for threaded push rods
- $5 push rod seals
- $13.50 flywheel
- $30 for the tuned pipe
- $14 header
- $8 turn fin
- $1 receiver balloon

Hmmm...that is all I can think of right now...I am sure there is other stuff...

308 above 250 for mine But some of the stuff I already had and most I built myself and looked for good prices on all.......still adding the 50$ for the kit price I could safly say the avrege build 275+50if kit for a total of 325$ give or take......Remember you have to do all the building and set-up yourself, if you have someone build/set-up for you add 125-200$ to the above price just depends if you can find someone to do it for you tom or anthony might have a better price for building labor...

Mine cost :

engine = $120
servos = $60
fuel cell = $5
coupler and flywheel = $25
hardware = $85
header and tuned pipe = $45
wood = $30
turn fin = $16
misc = $20

then the radio another $120 for the one I got. So a total of about $526 including radio

Paul

misc = belt ,fuel line, misc screws, push rods and boots, pressure fitting, epoxy, paint etc....................... and $20 would be a deal for all this stuff.

By the way what you got your getting rid of??
Mr cheese you need to shop around a bit more LOL mabey its just me being cheap!!
Also forgot to add that it depends on the engine you drop in it mine was 70$ Dynamite the above is an OS there are several choices in .12 size engines just needs to have a full length shaft threaded all the way..aprox.5mm..........So far to date I have enjoyed building my tunnel hull and outboard the best not sure why Think it was the outboard part more engine to tinker with so if you got one of them i might have your rigger...

I don't want to think about how much that I've got into mine! I went low-dollar with a used Trinity/Picco, Octura hardware and an old radio system. It now has an OS CV-R in it and a Texan .12 pipe just waiting for a good day at the pond.
It pays to shop around for what you want to put into it.

Well I have a .21 OS RG-M powered TC31 that my friend likes a lot and I would maybe sell it to him just so that we can run together. These little buggers aren't too cheap I see! I will keep my eyes open that is for sure. It would be a sure thing if my local club raced them, but all they do is RTR and 3.5 tunnels...

You're a lucky man... nearest hobby shop to me is 2 hours away.

I live within 10 miles of 2 very nice LHS, one is more for planes but the other has a couple hundred props, nice engines, hughey and speedmaster hardware, prob 4 diffrent outrunner setups and lots of diffrent hulls and lots more. I think I am the lucky one, ohhhh and tower is in my state too and everything from them is next day which I order through the LHS to save shipping ohhh and being a free member of this LHS I get I think 10% off on some of the stuff I buy
