Titan .21 Rudder help
I'm building a Titan 21 from Aeromarine. Im going to use the same stinger strut from the SV 27 nitro. If my rudder sits closer to the transom then the prop, is that ok? or will that affect handling.
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

RE: Titan .21 Rudder help
I would not suggest this strut because if you are going to be using a 21 in your titan than you are going to want to run a 3/16 cable and not a .150 to a 3/16 stub. You are just asking for your shaft to keep breaking. As for the rudder, the best handling is at the same distance the strut sticks out or slightly over. I would look into speedmaster hardware for a great adjustable strut and mono rudder. (Rossiosales.com)

RE: Titan .21 Rudder help
I'm not saying that the SV 27 stinger strut wouldn't work but I'd rather go with something heavier like the Speedmaster parts. The propshaft on the SV's is pretty long and is 3/16" so that part is good. It only gets reduced in the stuffing tube.
If you insist on using the strut from the SV 27 then I'd use the matching rudder.
Seeing how I've got some experience with the Titan 21 and now the SV 27 N I've learned a lot the hard way with that hull.
