Default Something I just cant pass up?

This weekend at my Club Race I was offered a 7.5 Hawk kit NIB with and ops .45 and most of the Hardware for $100. This would be coming from one of the best guys in my club so I cant see any of it being a lemon. The engine is suppose to be broke in, but he said it may need some new bearings ( but this person changes bearings probably 2x a year in his engines). He is selling it because he is a mono guy and this would be a little work to put together, and to carry a B,D,E/F mono and a D rigger in a little car is a little much. So I think in the next week or so I will be starting to build a .45 Hawk, I hope all goes well.

Paul

p.s. I will be a little nervous driving a rigger this size they can get up and move pretty good.

Well, you've got Gary and David over there to give you help with getting it together the right way, especially seeing how Gary designed it.

Figuring that the kit alone is $129.00 you are getting a deal.

BTW, how did the race go yesterday except for you blowing up your engine?

My little rigger did the same thing at the race as it did at the fun run. The more I see the Vegas run the more I think it should be racing sport 20, some very easy mods and It can keep up with most (yes there are some sport 20's that are crazy fast and would give the B hydro's a run for there money). They let me race my cat in sport 20 and the Vegas just blew it away, yes I was running a make shift muffler but still I got blown away by the Vegas (then I blew a rod thru the side of the block) I did finish a race with it before it blew

Ohhhhhhh if I would have been able to get the thing running half decent I could have taken 3rd with it, I wouldn't have even had to finish a race just a lap or two in two heats would have got me third.................... I blew it !!! 3rd place was taken with 25pts

That is a killer deal, don't pass it up. You are corect in saying that a 45 class rigger can get up and move. I have an Eagle with a CMB 45 gold head in it. She is a screamer for sure.

Good luck with the boat, we are currently resurrecting an old Hawk 7.5 and will run it with a Fine Design 9XL brushless on 12-14 cells.
Just something different.

If I need to replace wood, I replace wood when I get to that bridge I will cross it. But you gotta admit it is a good deal Tom? Also all the engine questions can be answered by the person selling it to me, I see him nearly every weekend.

I would replace all the wood anyway. You can use the kit for templates and build a fleet of riggers from one kit.

That Is a great idea there Hydro Junkie, Thank You. That way if for some reason a mistake was made I got perfect templates still.
