Bushnell Radar Gun Anyone Use One ??
Anybody use one of these Bushnell Radar Guns, seems like it would be good for small rigger were you can't fit a GPS.

Ralph,
also do a search on the forums as there have been a few threads covering different radar guns including this one.

RE: Bushnell Radar Gun Anyone Use One ??
The biggest problem with using any radar gun is that R/C boats are sort of small targets, and most plastics don't reflect radar signals as well as metal does. That doesn't mean that they won't work, just that the usable range is sort of shorter. The only really sort of big "if" in the whole thingy is that if the boat is coming directly at you, and the range is sort of short, how fast you can get the reading and then run is sort of important, you know?

RE: Bushnell Radar Gun Anyone Use One ??
We've tried a Quicksilver radar gun and had trouble hitting a .21 'rigger. Some DNR officers stopped by and happened to have theirs with them and got it out for us. They also had problems. A high profile boat like a 3.5 OB tunnel was easier to hit.
Fitting a GPS in either one of your boats would be about impossible and if you could shoehorn it in your .12 you probably lose a good 4 MPH.

Thanks Ron, I figured .12 & .21's would be hard to pickup with a gun, thanks for your help. Yes and no room for a GPS.
