Default Upgrades?

I have a supervee27 and i was wondering if i should put a filter on the water pick up to stop things from going into the engine?
What else can i do to my boat to make it preform better?

You dont need a water filter.Or evern an airfilter.[8D]The water invirerment is dust free and hardly anything in the water to plug the pickup, less your planning to run it in muddy, swampy waters? But that stuff sits on top of the water not below were the pickup is at. I'd never read or heard of any guys having issues with dirt or junk in the water tube.[&:] The water just goes threw the pick up,then goes threw a tube to the water cooling headbotton and backout to the outlet tube then back out side the water goes.So the water doesnt go inside the motor its self.
Plus by putting a filter on the water pickup might restricked the water flow and might over heat your motor=junk motor.[X(] There is a thread to do upgrades and mods to your SV27.Cleck it out. Lots of good info, all 43 pages of it.[link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5662498/tm.htm[/link]

if ur worried dirt get to cooling head just remember before keeping the boat pull one end of the cooling tube and squirt it with wd40 and ur done...u may squirt with alcohol too so nothing will build -up...putting filter is not really a favorable way to go.

i use gas filters on my tc 31 and my bj 55 i just drill out the fittings to 1/8" to keep good flow and i clean them after each run.
