That seems the obvious choice:

Depending how old your engine is, some parts are no longer available. The red carb, for one, isn't available, just like the disc rotor and backplate for the old style .45

The carb doesn't need to be K&B, anything that fit and similar ventury size will do probably better than the old K&B carbs which where very basic (specially the K&B 21 outboard). If its a 21's size look at carbs for cars engines, if its 45 or bigger check Tower Hobby they have carbs for OS engines. Years ago I used an OS carb in a Picco-45 (two needles) with great results

I know, was just using the red carb and backplate as an example. I myself have a CMB .67 with an OS 9B carb instead of the CMB carb.

I agree, I believe that Mecoa's web site may be the best place to start.

I've got a guy near Chicago that carries a lot of K&B parts. If he can't get it or has it, you don't need it plus he's a lot easier to deal with than K&B/MECOA.
The guy's name is Gary Preusse and you can call him at 630-279-2451, he doesn't have Internet. He's worth the phone call every time I get ahold of him, the dude has a wealth of knowledge.
He comes over our way twice a year for the record trials in Flint.

I thought car engines were limited to the size of the bore of a carb?? If so, he might be better off getting a carb from another boat engine, before getting one for a car.

The Prather exhaust trottle worked very well (Had K&B 21 and 45 with it and liked the response). For a .67 like your a good carb
might be better for oval racing, OS carbs in that size are pricey but good

this set up is less than practical for me,as i do not belong to a club i'm the only guy with rigger on croton pond, a lot of time is spent milling and tuning, plus i really need to find the correct prop set up. need serious recommendation on a killer 3 or 4 blade prop.
