I dont have my jig here so no pics now, but it is very simple. I used 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 alum. angle just use it like they do the ruler. I did locate the boom holes in mine but you dont have to. one thing that will make things go alittle better is to put your motor mounts and front boom holders to gether on a piece of 1/4 round stock (metal) glue and sand then your holes will by nice and straight. I have done six of them for guys around here my jig holds two and Ill get some pics if you want but theres nothin to it lay the angle down and clamp the sides to it.

I use epoxy to put it together and two coats of resin, very thin coats and for a final sanding I use a razor blade so I dont dull the egdges

Any good hobby epoxy I like 30 min and on the resin I use evercoat. west is great but its hard for me to get

I'd wait for Joe to come out with the gas kit. There are differences between the .12, .21 and .45 kits already and the gas version is now in the testing stages so I don't think that by just blowing up the .12 kit is going to do any good.
The JAE .12 doesn't need a jig, my 2 turned out nice and square without one. No problems with the .21 either.

MB, try boat dealers for West Systems. If not, cruise up to the Toledo show in April, somebody will be selling it.

I chose to use 2 bar stock alum, for my jig. I can see the bottom & side during setting up on the 30 min epoxy. Add some weight on top for setup. Here are some old school build ideals. The alum bar stock is 3/8"x3/4"x6' from my local ACE hardware.

I had to do a little repair on a tub. Did you know that CA sticks really well to clamps? [X(] I used a level to hold it straight while I epoxied everything back in place.

You can get west system epoxy from west marine online or you may have one close by, I live only 5 miles from a west marine on the stockton delta, they have many types to choose from but the web site is very helpfull with that.

Ron What was that about a hull repair? I think those blocks rolled during setup. Gotta Laugh I almost had 2 right hand sponsons, hole in each end, see what I mean.

Ya know those itty-bitty front sponson blocks? I had them held in place with a clamp with they were drying. Well........., some of the glue leaked out from between them onto the clamp. The wood cracked a little right at the front bulkhead. I also had the foam already installed so I had to slit that down the middle to get it straight again.
It wasn't a hard fix and you can't even tell that I had messed it up a little.
