nitro gas tank size?

nitro gas tank size?
i am building a dumas eagle hydroplane and it says that i need two 8oz. tanks. that seems like a lot to me. i am looking for tips or clues on what size tanks that i really need.

well im looking at abouta .45 engine and i dont think that im ever going to be running for more than 6-7 minutes.
so is 16oz about right?

You might run only 10-12 oz. but it's nice to know that you have extra onboard.
Most kits are set up with racing in mind whether or not you do. We like to figure that we like ot have enough fuel to run 12 laps. If the needle is rich during a heat they of course can draw more fuel but if someone takes off once the "You're on the clock" goes off you can run maybe 6 laps before the racing actually starts plus one lap after the heat is over.

That Dumas Eagle build, nice looking Hydro. You do need to assess them tanks from time to time., center of gravity,with fuel,is critical. COG is behind sponson end, equal to turn fin is Great.
