Default 4 stroke motors?

i was cruising electric side of things and came up with an idea

most electric guys try using a low kv brushless motor and a larger prop on high voltage.

so why not use a 4stroke nitro glow engine and spinning a larger prop?

im sure theres some limitations to 4 stroke engines that im not seeing or thinking of that keeps them out of rc boats for the most part, but just wanted every one else stand point on things

i guess another reason i was thinking of it is that i love the way those little 4 strokes sound. lol.

i figured this topic wouldve gotten more heat, the 2 stroke-4stroke debate is normally a really hot topic.

it was just an idea. i thought saito made some marine 4 strokes in the early 80s???

im sure they would work if some one took the time to pick a good prop for the engine, and gave it a good run threw.

i know 4strokes have better fuel economy and with the price of nitro it seems that it would be a big plus.

also they tend to have more torque which in turn would make them turn larger diameter props, however, 2 strokes spin at higher rpms. so i guess a good set up 4 stroke boat would run with a good set up 2 stroke.

mainly this was just an idea for leasurly boaters like myself, not racers.

Saito and OS used to have water cooled 4-strokes years ago, guess wasn't a big seller and they disapeared! 4-strokes are more useful for scale than speed and the vast majority used now are home built
for specific use. If money is no object you have that option:

Low kv plus high volts = high rpms

im aware of this, but comparitivly to a high kv motor, the rpms are still low.

no they are not
the unloaded rpms are anywhere from 28,000rpm to 35,000rpm in race trim and upto and over 40,000rpm in SAW setups
the reason for low kv and high cells is they pull less amps making for longer runtimes etc..
