Default Corona 2.4Ghz on water?

Just wondering if anyone has tried using the Corona 2.4Ghz components in their boats. I know that the Futaba 2.4 system works well, and have read that the Spektrum DSM doesn't work well...whereas the DSM2 does (although I have no hard evidence in either case).

I would like to try using the Corona DIY mod kit in my JR XS3. Of course, I would try this in a slow boat first.

Any input would, of course, would be warmly accepted =)

ive had a hard time saying no to this one.

over the years of become used to my traxxas radio. (i use it in everything even my losi xxx buggy)
and any time i pick up a new radio or try to use someone elses, it just doesnt feel right.

so i was thinking i could try to convert, and see what happens, then if it sucks lol, ill just throw it out and force myself to make the switch.

have you guys seen the new spectrum for 100 bucks? http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/D...ProdID=SPM3160 , i think its pretty awsome.
just no fancy displays, or telemetry. that stuffs too fancy for me anyways lol

Only problem buying off of Fleabay is you never know how it's been used/abused by the seller. There are many things I will buy used, radio gear is not one of them.

lol HJ your just paranoid, out of around 10 used radios over the years Ive bought, I have had ZERO problems with any of them, NOW if it was a USED TX or RX from a boater I would seriously test out the RX!

the proublem is andybenton is,HJ has 7 hull's that are half built. been that way for 5+years now and he bought three more kit's to build and they wont be done for another 5+ years. Can you say to many irons in the fire?? All the wasted time on them,he couldve had two or three of them done and running wright now.

As far as buying used R/C gear, it has nothing to do with being paranoid. I've wrecked boats due to radio failures and WON'T TRUST ANY R/C TO RADIO GEAR I DON'T KNOW THE HISTORY OF

Okay Missmouth, have you started to build a Pak 20 kit yet? If not, you need to get and build one so I can show you the proper way to build a boat.

BTW Misshydro, what is the best AOA and dihedral/anhedral for a sport 20? What about hull depth?
Only thing that gets me mad is how much I helped you over the years just to have you turn into an arogant self-rightious witch
