Keep the switch inside or on-top, they set very low in the water when dead. Roger

All,
Here (I hope) are a couple of photos that I took Sunday. Not too sure if this will work, 'cause took the pics with my phone. Craig, if it doesn't come thru, if you want, pm your e-mail address and I can e-mail the photos to you to try and post. I also took a video of the dozers in operation, pretty cool, but again, took on my phone and can't seem to download. Maybe I could find a 10 year old to help me!

Thanks Cindy for the photos!

For the most part, the pond is done. They ran out of time with the dozers, so they never got the very south side widened. No big deal, they are coming back in a week or two to finish it off with the link-belt shovel and a smaller dozer. This area is no big deal as there really isn't much dirt there.

There was more dirt to move than I expected, so I spent more money than I planned. This just means we need to start holding races to get a little money back.

Tomorrow morning I'll walk off the pond with the GPS and let you guys know what dimensions I get.

Thanks for the update Craig.

We appreciate the time and dollars you are investing to make this a great place to race.

Thanks to all the volunteers that also have been moving dirt and constructing!!

WELL..... a slight twist on the vintage thunderboat.... had a dent in mould and a small chip... rather than bugging them for a new cowl,i went a little crazy with the dremel tool and "modernized" it a bit.... this is what i came up with... a bit more shaping and some vents and a cool scoop and glass er up!!!!! sorry to all the "Vintage Thunderboat" lovers.... just sayin
Rick....

Rick, that looks like a sport hydro now! [8D] Shovel nose sport hydro, COOL! Put a driver under the tinted cowl.

We have a big west wind break now! They kept pushing dirt west and ended up with a tall cliff on the other side. Fine by me, makes a great back stop for shooting as well. I told Tom and Cindy we can plant shrubs on the west bank that spell "STONY POND". Cindy suggested, "WELCOME TO STONY POND". Just like what they do down in Florida on the sides of the over passes.

I was kinda kidding about the bushes on the west bank, but we probably should put some bushes on the north/east corner of the pond to deaden some of the sound near the one neighbor. The next time you are down, I'll show you what I mean.

You can start up that Stony Mountain Slope Soarers club now... stack one hobby on top of the other... Rick's head will explode he won't know whether to fly or float...

I hope the wind break works to our advantage, as we've seen thepond gets pretty rough with a good breeze, hopefully the hill doesn't start waterspouts or something weird like that...

The new pond size looks to be 700 feet long and 275 feet wide. That should work good for us.

The south end still needs to be tweeked, but no biggy.

The west bank will only help the way I look at it. Not so much if you get air born though. It may barrel roll you once air born. [X(] All in all, the land probably didn't change all that much as there was already a hill there. The hill is just closer to the water now.

Maximillionalpha...Thanks for sharing the video. I actually have a customer's Kyosho Jet Stream (800??) with the twin motor/drives to repair in my workshop. I've been looking for the correct universals that seem to no longer be avaialble from Kyosho, so I am adapting some Traxxas ones. If you like running electric, the newer Fast Electric's are light years faster than in the old Kyosho days...and with brushless/lipo power systems the run times seem to be about double than back in the day. You can tell from the posts here that some of us live in the past with some pretty ancient hulls and powerplants. But if it floats...it's usually still fun. Roger C.

Yep, it does wonders for the hull when it lands. Are you going to bite the bullet a get a Whiplash? Swapped a new carb on my Whip engine and it seemed to improve. Will change the intake gaskets (teflon) as soon as CC Racing comes back online. Really felt like a vacuum leak.

I've had her on a shelf since that video was made, Engine. I gutted her and was putting a brushless setup into her, but first I need to install a straight shaft, because under extreme speeds, the original pivoting shaft has a notion to snap at the hinged point. Glade you guys like my video.
Thanks! BTW....I just got into rc boats, last year due to my son's interest in them. I'm mostly a sailplane kinda guy, myself.

Maximilionalpha...During the summer if you and your son want to see some rc model boat racing you could trek up RT15 from Lewiston to Elmira, NY. We race monthly in the summer with the Southern Tier Model Boaters club at Brick Pond in Elmira. (http://www.stnyrcmbc.com/) Stony Pond is further North in the Rochester area. Roger C.

Sounds good to me, Engineman. Wife's been wanting a family trip together, so, I may just take you up on that.
We ALL know the wives get what they want..... I got started with boats with my dad too...In the early 80s we had built a Dumas PAY-N-PAK... was alot of fun.. miss the times with dad as he is gone now.. he was big into airplanes too, we traveled all over the country to airshows, full size and r/c,that was also fun!!! dad got into put-put boats and his club built several steam powered engines(from scratch) and boats.... the guys frowned on my "loud, smokey, wave making machines...." (dad just kinda chuckled...)and i ran boats for several yrs by myself(not as much fun...)till i got bored being a rebel outcast... dads last words on earth were"son,go fly" and i did after a couple years of being in a dark place and wife telling me i had to find somthing to do to have fun,or leave.... I began flying r/c planes again,it brought me closer to dad (as a youngster i also learned to fly...kinda) and to find these guys on rcu and a club full of speed freaks who like "loud, smokey wave making machines" was awesome!!! now i am still married, still flying and am trying to teach our boys to fly and go fast on the water...... i love this hobby and promote it all as much as possible...
SO if you take anything away from this rambling book i am writing, it should be, keep the wife happy, the kids close while they have you and r/c planes and boats etc. in your heart and soul!!!! good luck and hope to see you in elmira,as i am going to venture into the "go FAST,turn RIGHT"world this upcoming season and cant wait!!!
Rick P.
