Craig, the Sport 20 Bob bought was just sold about a month ago and it was up for sale again. Go figure. That hull looks like it has a little less wear and tear than the one I bought about a year ago. Bob's has an excellent paint job. The PT hydro is laid out a bit differently with the front radio box so getting to the rudder isn't just a straight shot...plus it requires a longer linkage. That's what I am working on now. I'm using a JR 'aileron' servo for the rudder that is pretty stout, but much shorter than a std. On the .21 Rigger...it IS Christmas...isn't it??? Roger

.21 riggers are nice! Fast and cheap on fuel. Handle the rough water o.k. too, allot better than the .12's. And we have a good class for them in Elmira. It's hard to believe you don't already have one in your fleet... Bob bought some .21 nitro engines from a club member last year with the thought of maybe building a JAE .21....

You can run my .45 short kit rigger Roger.
You'd will be glad that Craig enlarged the pond. I love getting in trouble driving my .21 You'd think Id be going down the old timers race in gas Thunderboats. I've been waiting for a new Thunderboat kit going on 2 yrs. I kinda went with more speed, why [>:] Riggers do get you hooked and landed. My trailer isn't big enough for a thunderboat. Joe won't sell a Bullet around here ,as he's got the only one. It's a real nice hull. He blew away Dick and Ric,was working I kind want to see what his hull will do at the Winter Nats. A national champion from Stony Pond. You heard it here first.
We will only run 45 riggers at Stony pond. Elmira won't run a class. kinda OK I got to too many hulls to run as is.
Craig the boom tubes, will have to wait till we meet up. I will need a few sets. I got plenty of work right now. Put em up as I know I'll brake a few sets.

Neil,
Understand the reason there is no D (45) hydro class is there were and are not enough boats to make this class. That was the reason why I had to park my SGX45. We have not had enough boats in 4 years. Four boats make the class. Not fair saying we will not run the class when that is simply not true.

Right Bill , I never had a interest until the short kit appeared. And the few video's of them running got my attention. I just wanted one to add to my fleet. I don't plan on racing the hull, in Elmira. Unless we get a big enough field. Kinda made a little come back with the bargain price of the kit. I think it was Martins run on Utube that got me wanting one. They are long in size. Now adding a vee hull to that .45 engine and we are racing. I kinda like the ideal of running 3 hulls a race weekend. 4 hulls isn't as fun , you get some DNS from lack of attention. I don't count the .12 rigger as real racing. Just a fun race. Having fun.

Hi guys - Looks like everyone has been keeping busy. Decided to finish off the Apache since Craig made the pond bigger

I also picked up a pre-built JAE21 from Joe - maybe we'll have Rigger Wednesday at Stoney Pond to go with Tunnel Thursday. Have a gas JAE that I'm looking to race next year - should be fun Neil. Rigger Fever!

Hope you all have a great holiday

Bob

Neil,
I also agree and I am also only running 3 bats. 4 gets to be too hectic. Plus I am going spend more time on the CD stand too.

Bill, I agree. Whenever I run 4 'bats' I usually go 'batty'!!! Even 3 is a challenge if even the slightest thing goes wrong!! Roger

I did pic up 2 billet props from Joe for the .21 rig. He gotten them and they went fast. You need to keep CKing his site.

Looks good Bob! Is there a clutch in there? That will make a good boat for when it gets real rough. With a clutch, would be good for Canandaigua Lake too. What is it, 50" plus long?

Here is my AM Signature 57 built last year. Sikk 29cc w/clutch. Still needs tuning/hull set-up work. Not great for Elmira. Too big & too slow!! Would be fun at Stony Pond on a rough water day!! Roger

I tried putting the 'link' between the ...What am I doing wrong?? RC

I never use that image thing from up above. I like tiny pic after you upload you copy and paste back onto the editor. Look to the left after upload

Thanks Luc! It was good talking to you last night.

Guys, the water level in Stony Pond is going up quick. I may have to dig another short drain to keep the level from rising above the island. I figured for sure there would be solid ice by now. It froze a couple times but thawed as soon as the rain and warmth came back.

The Jag's are nice hydros and that is a very generous offer by Tim. A twin no less. Best be a damn good driver before you get behind the wheel of that.

Merry Christmas to all and have a happy and prosperous new year.

Very expensive toy with a pair of 90's or 101's. Not to mention the fuel. I would carry 20+ ounces in my E hydro. You go through a gallon pretty quick. They are very cool, but I will stay with gas................................and also only run three classes.

Well, I am not normally a gadget junkie but I did get something for Christmas that Neil could use. It a 'Ruggedized' pocket cam that is waterproof down to three meters. My daughter-in-law got it for me so I could do videos of my boats. It looks like a cell phone and does HD videos or still pics. Neil, did your video cam ever dry out enough to be used again? Roger

Yes I did get mine to work it took a while. drying out. I was going to trade it in on a new one. The darn thing worked after a week drying out. They didn't want to give me anything on a trade in. The one inside lens has a smudge. But it works
Never put a camera in your top pocket and reach to pic up a boat in the water.
We better start a .45 build post as that video that Bill sent out Will make the hair stand up on your arm.

Roger, Sounds like a good gift.

I have not started my JAE 45. I'm still working the JAE 12. But, I expect my NR 46 will be in this week!
