Default Interest piqued....again!!

I haven't flown in over a year for no other reason besides lack of time and too many other things (work, home projects, golf, etc) getting in the way and begging for time. However, I had dinner tonight with a co-worker and found out that he has been flying for quite some time and we spent a good deal of dinner talking about flying and different planes.

Now I'm going to have to bring frankenplane down from the ceiling and dust off the Futaba and Wildcat so I can go flying this weekend. I can probably even get those 3 year old batteries charged and the rusted servos to work for at least a weekend. Nah, I'll just go get a new pack and some 3in1. Damn airplanes, just when I think I'm going to sell my gear, someone has to remind how much I enjoy getting out and just flying for the fun of it!!

Hello; I (kind of) quit flying when my flying buddie died unexpectedly. Nearly all my flying memories were shared with Al, It was just too painful to be reminded, That was over a year ago now, and I miss flying, and all the fun it is. I went to the lake today and one of the fellows offered me a flight on his LT 40 on floats. No one else was flying at the time and when I tried to fly inverted the engine died, the plane was high enough that I was able to glide back and do a nice dead stick landing that ended with the plane within reach of where I was standing on shore. All the fellows gave me a standing ovation! What a wonderful hobby! What a great bunch of guys.

I think I'll likely always fly model airplanes, I might take some time off from time to time, but I think I'll jump back into it.
